Top quality machete for the money as long as a person is willing to put work into the edge. I would also like to add that the vendor I purchased this from is top notch as well and shipped lightning fast.

Functions fine. It has a little bit of distal taper
Functions fine. It has a little bit of distal taper, making it less prone to flex in the forte. This gives it an advantage over the Cold Steel Latin D-Guard machete. However, the handle is square-ish, the d-guard is just cheap plastic,and it comes with no sheath. I'd get the Cold Steel again before this if you like machetes that can stand up to some wood chopping and pseudo-fighting. Get this if you're just concerned with cutting thin and light vegetation.
