Are they strong enough to roast 2 hotdogs, fully extended, without drooping?

I haven't tried it with 2 hot dogs, but I believe it would be strong enough.

are these dishwasher safe?

Thanks so much for your inquiry. Although the forks are made out of top of the line stainless steel and wood to prevent any rusting and to last many seasons and throughout the year, we believe it is best maintained by handwash with soap, sponge, and water. This is because there is glue involved in the handmade manufacturing process so undue amounts of heat and water could possibly cause the fork to come loose from the wooden handles.
