Q: what is wheat dextrin? does these mean it's gluten free or ? thank you

Very confusing. The product is labeled gluten free. However is from wheat dextrin source- which many advise to stay away from ?!?

Q: What is this product made from, wheat or chicory? The original Benefibre is Inulin (a vegetable fibre from chicory). I am gluten intolerant.

It's wheat dextrin, and the label says gluten free. I am very sensitive to gluten (in wheat, oats, barley, malt...) and this poses no issue for me. Works great!!

Q: is there any difference in product Optifiber and benefiber. I know one is made in france the other here by costco.

I agree as other have said that it doesn't seem to dissolve as well as Benefiber, but it's half the price of Benefiber at Costco. All that matters is I get it down so it's no big deal to me. Just add more water and drink the globs.

Q: Can I add this to home baked breads and other homemade foods as they are cooked? Thank you

Yes,I just don't know if you will be getting enough in a piece of bread. This stuff works great tho!
