Aokin USB Sensor Bar for Wii, Replacement USB Wired Infrared Ray Sensor Bar for Nintendo Wii, Wii U, Includes Stand, Black

I was using a wireless sensor bar and thought it would be fine, it wasnt the greatest and ate batteries like crazy, in the end I bought this one, ran the wire (why are they all so thin??) and tested it, turns out its much more accurate than whatever generic wireless one I was using and it works great. I plan on using it at some point with emulation too but for now it works great connected to my Wii with the USB port!

Works with dolphin emulator for that nice wii feel. The adhesive i had on mine isn't that great, but it does the job as a sensor. Before i'd have to turn on my wii and use extra power just to keep the sensor on, but now there's no need to do that! Most wii games i play don't require one, but whenever i hop on a classic dancing game or warioware? My handy sensor is always there!

So far so good, no problem whatsoever.

I wish it worked. The flimsy cable must be broken on the inside because only one side lights up. Not usable. I think, I am going to make my own or buy a wireless one that doesn’t have such a flimsy cable.

I've got it plugged into the USB port on my TV for power and it's working great with an off brand Wiimote to emulate my Wii games on Dolphin. The only issue with it is the included adhesive to mount it under the TV is basically useless lol. Luckily I already had some very strong double sided tape on hand which quickly rectified that issue, but be aware!

Update: After receiving a refund I thought I should come back and change my review. I was able to fix my computer eventually though the USB port is still malfunctioning. For that reason I don't recommend plugging this into anything other than a standard USB power adapter. It works fine in that situation, but it is disappointing that I can't use it to reduce wires and visible plugs like I'd hoped. I'm not willing to try it again in my smart tv and computer to troubleshoot the problem. Thank you for the refund, it seems like other people had a fine time with theirs, so maybe I just got a bad unit for smart devices. Original review: It seems to have fried at least one USB port on my computer. A reset didn't fix it.

Needed a something to use in my home theater, where the console is nowhere near the TV, usb powered sounded great, but The strength of the infrared emmitors is not great - can't get my Wii motes to work more than 10ft away....
