I was not sure what to expect with these nippers. I was pleasantly surprised they do a nice job of trimming small and fine hangnail and odd positions on and around the fingers. It is surprisingly easy to use in both hands, but it does take a little bit of practice to perfect making sure that you don’t cut incorrectly, and that you only are removing the hangnail. The product is really well made, sharp and the only critique would be a better rubber tip cover to protect the sharp tip. Highly recommend the product

I get hangnails ALL. THE. TIME. I've tried cuticle oil and moisturizers and all sorts of things but they just keep coming. These trimmers are super tiny and easy to keep in my purse so anytime I start to get a snag that I might pick at I just nip it off quickly instead. I have the regular full-size cuticle trimmers from Tweezerman and this style is so much better. They are smaller and more portable and most importantly they are easier to control and they work better to really get close for the snip. I've been using them for weeks and they're still very sharp and I imagine will work well for years to come. Totally thrilled with this purchase and wish I had found these years ago.

I have the original tweezerman full size tool of this item. The little rubber tip that protects the nipper head is form fitted and fits nicely. This one, is not molded and barely remains on the tool. Since this is directly working with flesh being handled (ie: sanitary needs) and is very sharp. (At least so far. I don’t know how it will hold up over time. The genuine article is over 15 years old i think. The only reason I bought this was i am visiting friends in another state. ) anyhow, i am concerned the blades will get dented or blunted if the cap comes off. And lets face it, with flesh destroying staff infections out there, the less potential contamination the better. All that said, it did the job i needed. It was nicely precise and sharp. (For me a minor blessing since i am dealing with flesh near nerve tender areas) So, 1 star off for the cap not being form fitting. I would almost reduce another star because i paid almost $3 more for this one. :( and its precisely what was being sold for less. Because i am fairly positive this is not from tweezerman) Anyhow, beware, save money :)

This is the best set of snippers I have used. I have tried sharp nail clippers and surgical scissors (called iris scissors) but these wirk the best and can snip off small tags of skin almost flush to the surface. Every winter I get these on the fingers and I have had lots of experience removing them.

If you get hangnails, you need this. Gets closer and smoother than a nail clipper. If you have a tool box, put one of these in there.

I got these because Anna Renata of The Salon Life recommended them. They are easy to hold, and she recommends holding them pretty close to the shipper part so you have more control. They are very sharp and work great. I only use them to clip what is commonly called hangnails but is really skin that is mostly detached. I do NOT clip what is commonly called the cuticle but what is really the Proximal Nail Fold. Proximal Nail Fold is the correct anatomical name for the living skin at the back of the nail. This should never be clips. Watch some of The Salón Life’s videos on YouTube for how to care for this guardian barrier and living skin. Oh, and cuticle is actually the dead skin stuck on the nail. It’s often hard to see and impossible to clip off. Anna has great videos on that, too.

I needed to replace my off-brand cuticle trimmers after they broke, and saw these recommended on r/Laqueristas. I love the quality of Tweezerman products and thought the “mini” design might make them more convenient to pack or have in my purse. These mini nippers are VERY sharp, which is great. But, personally, I found them more challenging to control and ended up cutting myself a couple times. It was a lot harder for me to clip the bit of cuticle that I wanted to remove in a single attempt, as well. I’m not a professional nail tech by any means. I give myself an at-home manicure just about every week. Maybe it takes a little more practice to get used to them, but I’m not convinced the learning curve and ouches are worth the minor space-saving perk of buying this mini style rather than something I’m more comfortable using.

I've bought one of these for every member of the family now. So easy to use and simply the best way to get rid of hangnails. Sharp, precise and much better than those big awkward scissor-like trimmers. Recommend.

I'm prone to hangnails and dry cuticles that can rip upwards, so I used to carry around a pair of nail clippers for those issues. However, that doesn't work very well since that's not what they're designed for, and my existing cuticle nippers were too big and unwieldy to stuff in my bag. These solve both of those problems! They work great for trimming cuticles and hangnails, and they're also sturdy and sharp enough to cut a tag or a thread in an emergency. They fit in my pouch of emergency supplies well, and I know that Tweezerman has great quality so I expect these to last years and year--well worth the price. The cap that comes with it is designed pretty badly, though. I had to really jam it on for it to stay, and it's just a straight cap so it doesn't follow the curve of the head so there's a big empty space at the top. But they work, and seems sturdy enough so I can't complain about them too much. They don't open very far so they're pretty specialized, but if you're prone to hangnails these are a life saver.
