Bought it for my roku and it works

This product works like a charm but when it is plugged in, it emits a high pitch whine; like a mosquito ringtone or a pop bottle with the cap a little loose. To a normal person that's not a big deal, but to a neurodivergent person like me, I am very sensitive to the sound. It bothers me enough that I unplug the charger whenever it is not in use.

Works as described.

I don't want to rate this poorly because this might be completely on me and it most likely is. But I do just want to say that if you are the kind of person that goes through phone chargers like other people go through water to stay alive this might not be the charger for you.It seems good enough, I can't find much fault in it but after the first week it went from doing a fantastic job to now charging my phone at a max of 300mah just like every other charger I've ever owned, which if you know anything about this you'd know this is horrible. But I want to be fair to the product and not rate it poorly because I seem to break more phone chargers in a week than most people and their entire family does their entire life combined.And so I just want to reiterate: if you're like me and destroy phone chargers every couple of minutes maybe get something more sturdy and expensive than this. If you DON'T do that then this will probably do the job and it's a fair price to try it out. That being said, if anyone can recommend a phone charger to someone like me who seems to destroy every one they own within a week, please comment on this review and let me know as I'd really appreciate it. It's the ONE thing in life that I just can't seem to not break consistently and it drives me insane.

I would first like to make it clear that I will do a follow-up review within the next 3 to 6 months. That being said the icv charger is so far an amazing highly efficient charger. My wife and I both have identical BLU Vivo IV phones and even though I have a multitude of chargers around the house the original chargers that came with the phones were up until recently the only ones that charged the phones effectively, efficiently and quickly. My wife misplaced hers while we were on vacation, so since I had purchased the phones on Amazon, (we really like them), I searched hoping to find the OEM replacement, I didn't but found chargers that were recommended for the phones, that I thought were a little high priced but I wanted her to have a quality replacement. Back to me purchasing the icv charger. I need a charger in the bedroom and one in the kitchen because I really don't like moving one back and forth, so knowing the specs of the OEM chargers, as usual my search for anything involved finding the lowest cost charger with the correct specs. The icv charger fits the specs at less than one third the cost. It came quickly, packed well, and most importantly it works as well as the original chargers. It stays very cool, charges quickly and the phone loves it 👍 As I stated at the beginning of this novel, I will follow up with another review in the future to let other buyers know if anything changes about the efficiency of the charger.

UPDATE, June 24, 2020: The second one failed, also after 5 months use.It worked for 5 months charging my wife's Samsung Galaxy cell phone. Then it just died.Originally gave 1 star, but after I sent an email through the Amazon Order page, the company contacted me in less than 24 hours and issued an instant refund.I decided to order another which just arrived and is charging the phone again. I vacillated between 3 and 4 stars. I don't expect the product to last long, but the instant customer service made me buy another.After some research I found there is a fairly high failure rate with many wall chargers. I have had similar repeat failures with the charger for our vacuum cleaner. On the other hand a charger for my Kindle has lasted 7 years with no problem.These light wall chargers are not the old-fashioned transformer with primary and secondary windings, but rather a switched mode power supply (SMPS). Wikipedia describes the reason for failure:" [U]nless very carefully designed and using suitable components, switching adapters are more likely to fail than the older type, due in part to complex circuitry and the use of semiconductors. Unless designed well, these adapters may be easily damaged by overloads, even transient ones, which can come from lightning, brief mains overvoltage (sometimes caused by an incandescent light on the same power circuit failing), component degradation, etc. A very common mode of failure is due to the use of electrolytic capacitors whose equivalent series resistance (ESR) increases with age; switching regulators are very sensitive to high ESR (the older linear circuit also used electrolytic capacitors, but the effect of degradation is much less dramatic). Well-designed circuits pay attention to the ESR, ripple current rating, pulse operation, and temperature rating of capacitors."I suspect any wall adapter under $20 or $30 is unlikely to have a long lifespan, but paying more will by no means guarantee you get a good one. I'm okay with getting an instant refund from this supplier and hoping for the best. In time, I suspect more reliable SMPS adapters will be available.
