Flip N Slide Catches Pack Rat!
In the early days our dual Flip N Slides caught a pack rat right away. The Flip N Slide works on mice and small to medium rats. Our pack rats are about 4-6 inches in body length, up to 12 inches adding in the tail. I've seen them longer than a women's size 8 shoe. After a year + of use and eventually putting the Flip N Slides outdoors at night, despite bears, they became nicknamed the rodent hotels and we could get 5-7 or more pack rats a night. We either got lucky and the bears left them alone or they weren't interested. You will want to monitor these regularly, daily or every other day, in the interest of keeping the cleanup manageable and less smelly. It's not for the faint hearted. The Flip N Slide is super easy to set up. I’m now using cheap creamy peanut butter. We had some leftover 100% natural peanut butter, but the cooler night air caused it to harden and fall off the plastic. The added sugar and other oils in the cheaper peanut butter keep it more sticky to the plastic. There’s an art to placing a trap in the prime spots, find their little highways. We have bears which have made quick work of the cast iron bird feeder poles in the past. We’re doing everything possible to keep food inaccessible to bears at night. Rats are nocturnal. It’s a strategy game. Our greenhouse is not completely closed to the outdoors. We’ve had the old fashioned snap traps in there. But we quit using them after a garter snake got its tail trapped (now named Stumpy and seen about the garden). Garter and bull snakes help eat the rodents so we want them around. I’ve had great luck with an electronic rat trap, however, worry the snakes or lizards will want to hole up in it at night on greenhouse floor if it's nice and warm. The electronic trap is great, but it's one customer per zap because you have to reset it. The Flip N Slide can keep collecting all night long when the rats are breeding like crazy. We’ve tried a lot of other traps and methods that have been mediocre at best. Poison is not an option for us because secondary poisoning is a real problem to our owls and hawks, who also eat rodents. I can't tell you have many glue traps I've found scattered about the property with only a chunk of fur stuck. We also have a population of rock squirrels that are very crafty, acrobatic critters. There’s been no evidence of them stealing the peanut butter out of the Flip N Slides to date. Nor have the raccoons tried to tear off the lid to eat the peanut butter or rats. The Flip N Slides are holding steady, which says something given our critter shenanigans.

Best trap I've ever used
We live in the woods of Maine, and mice are a huge problem. They've done thousands of dollars' worth of damage to our home and vehicles. These traps really work!

Support USA for a quality product.
Picture is a side by side comparison of the Chinese cr@p vs the real deal. Buy from Rinnetraps or get what you pay for. My wife and I discussed these and we unknowingly pulled the trigger at the same time. I went with USA, while she went China. Both Rinnetraps came in perfect condition and are well constructed, while the Chinese came in a dilapidated box and broken. Totally unusable. Even if it hadn't broken, it is obvious that it got too hot on the boat ride across the pacific and is totally warped. Won't stay on a bucket. Buy quality and support Merica. The Rinnetraps are awesome.

Doesn't seem to work...
No catches with lots of bait and lots of mice.

Close, But No Cigar
Safely nabbed a dozen mice in the first 72 hours. Then the mice got wise. Now they eat the bait off the ladders and stay off the trap doors. Bait (peanut butter or cheese) will not stick to the bait pocket inside the trap lid. Just slides right off. Product improvement definitely needed. Oops, let me revise my review uoward. Went out this morning and found 5 little mousies all in one bucket.

Was not too impressed with this product.
I didn't really need these because I had taken care of my problem before they arrived. I did bait them and set them up. I found that the peanut butter fell off from the lid into the water so the bait did not stick to the plastic, that wasn't very efficient.

Amazing mouse traps
These are amazing! I've caught over a hundred mice in one summer with these and a bucket! Definitely worth the purchase!!!

After watching Shawn Woods' Mousetrap Monday review, I ordered both the Rinne trap and the infamous knockoff to see: 1. The efficacy of both, 2. The difference between both Both ordered through Amazon. Suffice it to say there is a large difference between the Rinne traps and the knockoffs in quality, stability (Knockoff is much flimsier). I can easily haul in 12 mice per 24 hour period at a peak. I have an open field with a forest across the road that supplies the mice in large numbers. Stick to the Rinne, and don't even waste your time on the knockoffs. Overwinter re-review: I have to admit the difference between the knock off and the real McCoys is very noticeable. The item on the left is the knock off and the one on the right is the Original Rinne-trap. Noticed pretty early on that the knock off flipper got torqued by negative temperatures that it refused to reseat in the groove and thus was useless from then on including now (April). The Rinne trap remained within the same proportions and did not torque. It has been useful and still functions as new and has done so throughout the winter months. If you're still on the fence about buying it, hopefully this helps you out. 5 stars!

I ordered this product as the description was for a RinneTrap and I paid extra ($88) on the belief I was getting the genuine RinneTrap product. This is NOT the genuine RinneTrap produce but a Chinese rip off that I have overpaid for. False and misleading ad. Cheap crap rip off. Very annoyed.

Inconsistent catch rate. They catch on....

This one is ok. Mouse approved. Don’t buy the cheaper rubbish Chinese copies. They don’t have mouse approval certification. The only things they catch are a farmers boot as they’re kicked out the barn into the rubbish pile.

Have only caught one mouse in a week in barn. Either my cats are doing a great job or I only had one mouse in there. And yes I did follow instructions. Have to make sure ladder does not conflict with the flipper when mounting on bucket.
