This is the 3rd stud finder I've purchased, and the 5th overall I've used while doing installs in my studio. I waited until I put the finder through several tasks before leaving this review, and this is definitely a keeper. The interface is straight forward and easy to operate, but more importantly this bad boy is ACCURATE and well priced. I rather not go into how many "mistake holes" I've dealt with due to unreliable stud finders, but suffice to say it's been plenty. With this, it was one and done FINALLY. I fully recommend for your tool box.

I recently bought the previous version and it was a great product. This one is even better, material-wise feels good. It performs as it should. It has a percentage meter which I found to be super useful. In the previous model, my hand would mess with the readings but I did not experience this issue this time. Sometimes while scanning the same place I would get different results. I tested this one with the same location and previous hole that I made and it was 100% accurate. The is a great product which I will definitely recommend to my friends and family.

This product was easy to use

I have had a Zircon stud finder for years and have never been satisfied with its accuracy or consistency. Sometimes when it says there is a stud present, it is off by just enough that I miss the stud. In addition, I keep the tool in a tool bag with other tools and, because it doesn't have a power button, sometimes other tools press the read button and drain the battery. I like that this sensor has an actual power switch. The selectable multi-modes are also really nice. The backlit display is much easier to read and provides good feedback telling you to move right or left to find the center of the stud. Additionally, this unit can tell you if there is a live power wire inside the wall.

I've used it a few times. Once to place mounting point on my garage ceiling for a kayak hoist, and a few others for various wall mounting. It works far better on vertical walls then it did on the ceiling. It takes a bit to figure it out and get the depth setting correct. Did get a few false readings. For as little as I'm going to use it and for ~$35 it will do the job.

The media could not be loaded.  This is one of the most accurate wall detector I've ever used and I've used a lot of them. As an DIY guy, I try to do most of my work around the home but was not always confident with one of these tools - but I'll tell you right now this one detects wood and metal studs without any problem and gives me all the confidence to drill thru. The audible sound also tells me spot on the center of the stud. For the price point, could not ask for more

The media could not be loaded.  I recently attempted to use the stud finder on a wall that was 6 feet wide, but unfortunately, I had no luck with it. I tried multiple times and even tried adjusting the settings, but it still didn't work for me.

The most important feature of the Tavool Stud Finder is its ability to locate live AC wires at the same time. Without the AC detection feature one can easily locate the absolute center of a stud and rive a fastener directly into an AC cable running horizontally through the stud. Therefore the AC detection circuitry is turned on for both the wood and metal detection modes. Tavool manufactures other similar models with additional capabilities such as plastic pipe detection. I wish I had purchased that tool when I learned my new house was piped in plastic tubing.

Don't get me wrong this is a far cry from the high end scanners but for the price it's hard to beat. Accuracy is fine for both wood studs and electrical. I'd recommend to take a few extra passes just to be certain especially if you are near wires.

I've had this product for a while now and it has a lot of trouble in certain situations like when the wall changes thickness or if it has bumps or small cracks. even on my brand new drywall I found it to be super unreliable overall. I would say that there are better options out there than this one.

Long to get start calibration before sweeping the wall.Very accurate, but not robust.
