Gorgeous Beyond My Expectations
Oh. Em. Gee. So far, I have unwrapped only one fork, and I'm absolutely gobsmacked! This flatware is GORGEOUS!! It has a soft matte finish, and the gold color is so rich and luxurious. Waaaaay beyond my expectations!! The simple, elegant design of the flatware is perfect with the gold color. It if we're too intricate, it might be tacky, and this is definitely NOT tacky! Love, love, LOVE!

Cannot Reccomend
I bought 3 place settings of the 20 piece Portola gold flatware in order to have enough settings for 12 people. I first used the flatware at Thanksgiving and washed according to the flatware box instructions. When I was putting the flatware away, I noticed that the gold finish had greatly diminished (see photos). Lenox advertises a lifetime warranty on the box, so I called the company. The customer service rep asked if I used pods in the dishwasher, as they can effect the finish. I did not, as I use cascade powder. She offered to replace one of the 3 boxes. I now have one good set, and 2 sets that do not match with it, making it impossible to use at a large setting. At Christmas, I used an older gold flatware set that I purchased from west elm and have had for years. The last photo shows a picture of the west elm flatware next to the Lenox flatware. I cannot recommend purchasing the Lenox Portola flatware. Although it is heavy and sturdy, the finish comes off very easily and the company did not stand behind their lifetime warranty. At the price point of the flatware, the finish should hold up better and the company should include very detailed instructions on what types of detergents to use (if they recommend against using pods, that should be listed on the box.)

A beautiful flatware set .
I purchased this set in satin gold finish for everyday use. After ten months of use it still looks new. It is placed in the dishwasher every night . It brings elegance to every meal. The pieces are a good weight though a tad shorter than the set they replaced. Lenox is known for beautiful classic wares and this set is an example of that .

Gold washed off! Not what is says it is.
This is product is a total rip off. Got my original set of flatware from another site. I liked them so much I wanted additional pieces. Other site had flatware on back order. But Amazon had it so why not? Wrong! All the gold has washed off the flatware. It is now a silver color. The first set I bought did not do that. Do not waste your money on this flatware set.

Pretty at first -finish rubs off
If the gold stayed on I would give these 5 stars. Durable, beautiful, but the finish rubs off.

Expensive
Very pretty but over priced when compared to their other food ware.

Gold Doesn't Last Forever
I purchased a dishware set from Noritake (Tozan - it's beautiful) and wanted gold flatware to go with it. I saw the rave reviews, but time will tell. I learned prior to purchasing the second set that the gold wears off of the knives - okay, I get that - I've been handwashing them. Now I have the bowl of a spoon which is stainless steel and NOT gold. It's pretty cool looking - but it is by itself. I also know that I'm unlikely to get any satisfaction from Lennox - so the knives are going to go back in the dishwasher and hopefully after a year or two everything will match.
