Great radio for the price compared to cobras

Good basic out of the box CB. My " BIG" radio bit the dust and i needed something fast for doing oversize loads and getting traffic updates. This fits the bill. Range with my particular coax cable and single antenna is a Mike to 1.5 miles. Simple and basic , fits the bill for now.

Good radio for the priceIt is large in size and would not recommend to install it in a regular car. But would work great in a full size truck or possibly van with lots of under dash space or overhead space.Hard to tell the quality of the radio when so much of it depends on a quality antenna and adjustments. But it appears to work well.If I had a chance to do it over, I would pick a smaller radio that scans all channels instead of being locked into 1 channel at a time.Was different 10 years ago when all trucks traveling East /West would use a specific channel. But now days it’s scattered over any channel. But in doubt go to ch. 19One negative when I received the radio the casing had a couple dings in it. Might be from pre assembly or ? (Don’t think it was during shipping) but does not seem to affect its performance.

This radio was clear and powerful out of the box. With an Astatic 636l,and 102" bumper mounted whip mounted on an '06 Sterling Triaxle dump. I had it peaked and tuned @ "Bob's CB Shop" for $25 after the first year, and now get out easily to 4 miles. For around $200 for the whole setup, I highly recommend this product and seller.(Update 2023) After 4 seasons of blacktopping and aggregate hauling this radio still works flawlessly! It outperforms it's direct competitors (Cobra 29 ltd) and often times higher end radios. It's now mounted in a 2022 International HX620 triaxle using the factory antenna mounted coax with a 4' or a 2' Firestik II antenna with quick change attachment, since some silo's are lower also in town limbs and other obstacles. Also using an Astatic 636L that I bought at the same time (the original mic sounds tinny!). Replaced the led that backlit the meter a year after purchase when it got peaked and tuned. Highly recommended!

Just got this radio to mount in my truck. It's large but has all of the features you need. I was able to wire it up in about an hour (already had antenna and COAX cable ran, just had to switch out radios and power wires). I managed to lose the little screws that holds the radio into the mount. I was able to use a M5 .8x12mm machine bolt from Ace Hardware.Couple month later update: radio is holding up well. Friends are able to hear me clearly at pretty good distances even with obstacles. I'm still very happy with my purchase.
