I bought a "new" (new to me) HP Z2 workstation on eBay for $180 bucks. But, when I received it there were no display ports (at least none I recognized) and thought they had removed the graphics card. Doing homework on the expansion slots I happened to see an image of the back of the PC and lo' and behold there were two built-in DisplayPort ports. A quick search of Amazon and I found the BENFEI adapter needed to connect to my ancient (but still working just fine) Asus monitor. It worked perfectly from the moment I plugged it in. I needed this cable for a 2 monitor setup, because my GFX card had DisplayPort and my monitors had VGA. Worked perfectly. Never had any issue with damage to the cables or anything like that until maybe a year or two later when one monitor would go all blue-hued. A quick wiggle of the VGA end and it was fixed, though.

- My old cable had a loose connection, so whenever I plugged anything else into the mini computer like thumb drives or accessory cables, the monitor would blank out for a few seconds. - This cable plugged in easily and is solid in its construction. I was worried it was the port, but it was the cable (my local repair lady verified that for me by plugging in one of her cables to test it, but didn't have a spare one to sell me). - Nobody near me, including Best Buy, had this cable in stock. I work IT for an ag company and these cables are always good for any VGA monitors that our company uses. We connect them to our Lenovo docking stations which have a display port. The connections are always good and seldom do we experience bad cables. When we do, they are promptly replaced with working ones. They are also very straightforward to install. It is just a VGA connection on one end and display port on the other. I also want to thank Amazon customer service for this last experience because I originally ordered three units and only received two, but they quickly rectified the situation and sent me a replacement! Amazing service.
