hotline miami :)
it's a great game and i literally have no criticism. if you have seen content about hotline miami and you're thinking of buying it then go for it, it's a great video game with more of a focus on gameplay than story but the story is definitely there & prominent in HM2 (both HM1 and HM2 are included) but both aspects are great. this is me formally telling you to play hotline miami

Love it, near perfect port of the console versions.
After having played both hotline Miami 1 and 2 on my PS3 and loving it I jumped at the opportunity to have both of them in handheld form. Overall the conversion from PS3-4 to switch has been done quite well, there are a couple of minor glitches (and one softlock glitch I found in the second game that was present in the former console versions), but these don't hamper the game much, if at all. Shame they didn't add the level editor that's present in the PC version of the second game, but this is a port of the console version so it was most likely overlooked. My only issue with the switch version is playing for extended periods in handheld mode, as my hands would begin to physically cramp due to the position you have to hold the console in to reach all of the buttons, this port definitely works better with a pro controller, manually remapping the buttons until you get something you like (can be done in the games settings), or the joy cons undocked.

Old skool fun in a modern release.
Hats off to the team for this. If you enjoyed the top down , pixel /Sprite style of the first two grand theft autos on psone.... This is a must buy. Hard , exacting and unforgiving. U unlock different mask 😷🎭 disguises which add to replay ability. Cheap as chips and fun. Not for kids.

Bad
The game seems to have a bug where there's always a bad guy behind a wall on one of the levels in the first game (the collection is two games). So the game isn't completable. I remember playing this game on a keyboard and mouse and finding the game a lot more fun. I don't think it translates well to a controller. Bad, lazy port. Avoid. There's loads of better games for the Switch.

Classic games, 2 is the best
My first time playing both games on the switch, the 2nd game easily makes my top 3 games of all time

A satisfying dose of ultraviolence.
Having played this to death when it first released, it was a no brainer picking the duology up for under £15 and delving once again into the seedy world of Hotline Miami. The concept is simple. Lead character “Jacket” receives a phone call to his apartment, where cryptic messages urge him to kill every person in a given location using the fastest and most creative means. Hotline Miami is a throwback to the 80’s. A fast paced dose of ultra violence crossed with a thumping synthwave score and grainy 8-bit visuals. The gameplay is decidedly 80’s too as you die over and over in a fit of rage, but it won’t stop you loading up and going again. It's as much a puzzle game as it is a shooter/brawler. There’s an optimum way to clear a floor, as you move from room to room, killing the occupants in a grindhouse fashion. Ultimately, nailing this is what brings the most satisfaction. The second instalment in the series, “Wrong number”, offers more of the same but with less thought given to level design. Whilst the original’s levels were tight and the action immediate, the sequel’s are considerably less refined. That said, both games still offer some of the most addictive and rewarding gaming experiences available, and the soundtrack to “Wrong Number” is excellent. Hotline Miami Collection is a great port and, whilst it brings nothing new to the party, it really feels at home on the Nintendo Switch. If you’re looking to experience these games for the first time (or again) on a portable platform, this is the place to do it.

Excelente juego, muy buena historia, muy violento (a este si le aplican el impuesto de juegos violentos). El libro de arte que viene incluido como extra es sencillo y no asombra pero se agradece que venga incluido.

I found the controls on the Switch rather cumbersome. In the second game you can change them but not in the first.

Be aware that the double sided artwork and art book come as an insert in the game's case.
