Top Notch Quality
I just received the Leupold BX-2 Alpine HD Binoculars, 10x42mm, and, while I'm not expert on binoculars, I have to say that I'm impressed with it quality image of the horizons. It's really HD as they proudly announced. The built quality is also extremely excellent. I haven't dropped them to the floor yet, but my guess is that they will resist it if nothing hits the lenses; however, I'm very careful not to drop them. I think they're worthy for the price bc of the quality. I'll keep my update in the future. Thanks.

Nice glasses
I bought these binoculars to have a loaner pair for friends. My personal binoculars are Zeiss conquest HD 8 x 42, and Zeiss victory 8x25. These leupolds do not match the clarity or brightness of my Zeiss, but they are very clear and nice binoculars. They feel good in the hand, the focus knob works smoothly, and the view is very good. My Zeiss are definitely nicer binoculars, but I would not feel disadvantaged at all, in a hunting scenario, with these Leupolds. I was going to buy the entry level Zeiss Terra 8 x 42, but it's hard to find anybody online who thinks the Terra's are worth double the price of these Alpines. I recommend that you look up the binocular testing on allbinos.com. It's really good information that is more than just opinion. The alpines come with a binocular harness/case, instead of a neck strap, which is a joke in my opinion. I would need a second person to help, in order to get that binocular harness rigged up. I took the harness off, and I will keep the binoculars in the case. I purchased a nice neck strap on Amazon, and I'm still $175 ahead of buying the Zeiss Terra......... I originally purchased the Vortex raptor binoculars,(as loaners) and they were horrible, very little different than taping together two toilet paper tubes. The Raptors would be good for a small child to play with, but that's about it. I don't think you can get decent binoculars for $100, but these Leupolds prove that you can get a decent pair at the $200 price point. if these Alpines are a first purchase, or an upgrade for you, you will be thrilled with them.

Binoculars
They are great quality. A little heavy but that’s ok.

Great… but lacking a neck strap.
Leupold is my go-to choice for firearm optics. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about their scopes. Top-of-the-line. This binocular is no exception. Fit, finish and optical quality are great. Compared to your super basic binoculars this is amazing. The image is crystal clear and the 3D pop you get (not visible in any reviews or photos) is super cool. I have never tried the super top-of-the-line options out there but for the money I’m not sure how much more clarity you could hope for- and I’m lucky enough to have 20/13 vision. Now, my only gripe with the product itself is insignificant, but when there are such comparable alternatives (such as the Diamondback HDs pictured) the scales tip in favor of the competition. The kit included is quality. Chest bag is solid and has a better overall design than the Vortex. However, it’s a little small, meaning if you had the rubber lens covers on it’s a bit of challenge to take it out- especially if you are trying to be quiet about it. Additionally there is no included neck strap… The only strap Leupold made is currently discontinued. I know there are numerous 3rd party options out there, but my OCD won’t allow me to settle with that. Call me crazy but I don’t want to walk around with a binocular strapped to my chest. To me that’s sort of a weird tacti-cool look that just screams insecure. IMHO seeing someone with this thing all strapped across their chest on a hike around town would scream “stay away! I’m an easily triggered, xenophobic, Chad who is probably carrying a gun and is itching to create a perceived threat so I can use it.” I called Leupold and in my most friendly way asked about the lack of a neck strap- which is included still with their pricier binoculars. The guy said you “just get used to it” and didn’t even make an attempt to placate me with any sympathetic words. Outside of the binoculars themselves, the warranty -though solid- does not seem to cover accidents. Thats reasonable but Vortex does have a warranty that covers everything. So, all things being equal with the optics and with the Diamondback having a selection of neck-straps, I made the decision to diversity my collection of optics and go with the competition. Still, if you are using this exclusively for hunting (where the chest strap might be more appropriate attire), don’t care about the extra warranty, and have loyalty to the brand- go ahead and give this a shot. As stated, the optical quality and build is fantastic.

Sharp, clear, bright and high quality image. Solid build.
This is my first purchase of Leupold binoculars. I purchased the Alpine HD BX-2 8x42. My first impression when I brought the binoculars to my eyes was WOW!! Very clear, very bright and a very sharp image. The binoculars have a very solid and quality feel. Finish and color look great. Very impressed by the quality and sharpness of the Leupold lenses. The adjustments are very smooth and solid. It is a bit on the heavy side, but absolutely not a deal breaker. Extremely happy and satisfied.

Great Binoculars
Finally broke down and bought a nice pair of binoculars for hikes and our cruising adventures. Love these Leupold 12x52! The images are so vivid compared to my older Bushnell binoculars. Did a lot of research and determined that these were the one to invest in. Feel great in the hands with a slight tactile surface so as not to slip. Focus rings seems smooth to operate. So far, they have not let me down. The over the shoulder harness strap that's included was okay, but nothing I would use, really. Would be nice if they came with a simple neck strap, but an old camera strap I had worked just fine. I would definitely recommend this binocular.
