12-Inch Hitch Step Model # HS-12 (2-Inch Receiver)

I own an old - yet very new looking (almost mint) - 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, which I've maintained superbly for 21 years - nary a scratch or dents, until a few months back, when somebody rear ended me. Because it was an older car/truck, I had to visit a half dozen car salvage yards across my state of North Carolina just finally to find replacement parts that were in half-assed decent condition. Promising myself that I will never have to do that again, I began investing in rear hitch step up accessories and/or bumper guards. I've tried several (no need to name them here) and I liked each one of them. But then I came across this US made Hyper Hitches 24" step option that just blew me away. Everything about the ad convinced me to get it, so I pulled the trigger on one. After several days, I was contacted by Hyper Hitches to tell me that the 24" version was on back order and since they are made in the US (Florida), it would take an additional week or so for them to complete the backorders - having to weld, paint, etc., the backordered items (which was the 24" version). It was nice of them to actually call me at home. After a week or so, the backordered 24" version finally shipped and when I received it, I was positively stunned at the weight and quality level (not to mention superior design) of this 24" Hyper hitch design. In my professional opinion, this is one of the finest units of its type - or better yet, the finest unit of its type that I've both seen and tried. It looks wonderful on your vehicle, is superbly crafted, and easy to insert and lock. I can tell you right now (speculation of course) that if somebody were to rear end me - unless it was 25+ mph - I probably would not experience any rear-end damage at all (except to the hyper hitch), but whoa and behold the damage that might result to the front end of the offending vehicle would be substantial. Hyper Hitches is to be congratulated for producing such a fine design. Now as I alluded to, this hitch accessory is no slouch. It weighs 20 lbs and is absolutely superbly crafted - it's downright solid, and I doubt if it could easily be damaged. Sure, it costs close to $150 + or -, but in this case, you truly get what you pay for. I'm so glad to have purchased this 24" version. They have plenty of 12" versions also. So I recommend this 24" hitch step model very highly, It does everything that I expected it to do (and then some) when I ordered it, and it looks much better in person. And not to forget that this is a very good US made company that cares both about their customers and products.

I love the construction of this hitch step—it’s solid, well-built, and high-quality. Made in the USA, which is a big plus! It looks great on the back of my truck and serves a dual purpose. I primarily use it to step into my pop-up truck camper in the bed of my pickup, and I also like keeping it on for added protection. It gives me peace of mind, knowing that if someone isn’t paying attention while driving, the step might absorb the impact instead of my truck or camper. Overall, a great product that I highly recommend!

The Hyper Hitch is a rugged receiver step that is available for 2” and 2-1/2” receivers. It is furnished with a unique clamp which eliminates vibration and minimizes any rocking when in use. Unlike some lesser brands, this receiver step is fabricated of painted steel. It is available in a number of sizes and configurations.

I was looking for a hitch step that was sturdy and didn't wobble. I tried another competitor and they used a plastic housing to make theirs compatible with the 2 most common hitch sizes, needless to say plastic anything doesn't do well when it comes to stability. I put this thing on and it looks great, is stable as can be, and best of all it was made less than an hours drive away from me in Florida. This is a great product can't say enough good things about it, will definitely be buying more of their products in the future. Only suggestion I have is cosmetic, would be really cool to have an LED brake light on it that one could simply plug in.

Purchased the 12” and 24” for my 2023 Mercedes Sprinter 3500XD. The 24” is the winner for this truck, I attached photos of both for you guys. These steps are very solid, good quality, excellent welds and look very nice. I wish they made an aluminum one for lighter weight. I gave it 4 stars because at this price point you would expect to at least get an Allen wrench, a pin to hook up and anti rattle could’ve been made better, needs improvement. Other than that I recommend.

perfect for a middle step getting in our little fiberglass camper. Added a anti rattle to the reciever to make it nice and tight.
