Priced Better On Amazon Than From Specialty Sites ...
As a result of nerve damage, I have had to look for methods to rehabilitate one hand. The lack of both strength and flexibility are two areas needing improvement, but finding equipment that might help in both areas is difficult. The "Gripmaster Hand Exerciser" looked like something that could provide the dual benefits of increasing flexibility and strengthening the fingers. After seeing the "Gripmaster Hand Exerciser" on a specialty catalog web site for almost $30, plus shipping, I decided to check Amazon. I am so glad I did so - the price is significantly lower and multiple resistance options were available. I purchased the "Gripmaster Hand Exerciser" in both X-Light (Yellow) and Light (Blue) tensions. This product is easy to use and appears to be fairly sturdy. It is sized so that anyone with average or larger hands will likely find it comfortable to use. If you, like me, have smaller hands then your opinion may be that this unit is a bit too large. As a result, you become somewhat frustrated while trying to use it. I have ended up working one finger at a time so that I do not become discouraged by trying to hold the entire unit in my problem hand. Eventually, I hope to be able to hold it correctly, but until then I will work with the "Gripmaster Hand Exerciser" as I am able to do. If you are in need of a hand exerciser for either rehabilitation or for strengthening to enhance your ability to enjoy extracurricular activities, then you may want to consider purchasing "Gripmaster Hand Exerciser".

Helps if you need hand strength.
How this product really help me with hand strength. I am a petite woman and needed this to help. A conceal to carry firearm instructor told me about this product. To build strength in hands.

Beginners, MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT STRENGTH.
This is a wonderful product and the staple for musicians and athletes. My grandfather played banjo for almost my entire life up until he passed away and I vividly remember the shape and branding of the grip master he owned and kept his hand strength up with. I also remember being able to move the springs only when I mustered my entire little body into the effort. A few years after his passing I decided to pick up guitar and the hand strengthener was something we couldn't find amongst his things. So I was in search of the same model and brand. Luckily I read the reviews ahead of time and instead of picking up the red my grandfather owned, instead went for the yellow. Even the extra light was a but tough the first few days, and I'm not exactly a dainty guy. But you're working out muscles that usually don't get stressed the way they are with this device. And its much more productive to be able to build "reps" as opposed to pulling or hurting your near vestigial pinkys and ring fingers to the point of even more uselessness. Grab the extra light. Use it for a few months regularly and you will notice a strangely huge improvement in finger dexterity. Then move to the next weight when you're ready. Have fun!

Bass Player Finger Endurance
Over the past few years while playing bass I have always struggled with my left hand technique due to an injury that occurred from playing football in high school. I went to therapy for a while after the injury and I purchased a Grip Master during that time for hand exercises to bring back some strength that I had lost in a few fingers. I had the Red (Medium Tension) Grip Master then and I remember one feature that is lacking on the newer design. The rubber grip that fits in the palm side of the exerciser was removable for a couple of wrist exercises and for using all fingers together. Although, these new changes make those few exercises unavailable I still believe these Grip Masters to be a great tool to build finger and hand strength for different sports or musicians that require the additional strength. These are also great for the "down time" when you don't have access to a instrument or a rock wall. I think that this particular tension is best suited for bass, but would recommend the Green (XX-Light) Grip Master for the guitar virtuoso or six-string bass player. The Blue (Light) Grip Master would also be helpful for the bass player that plays a five string bass. For rock climbers or athletes I would look to the Medium to High tension models. Enjoy!

Hand Strength Reduces the Rate of Aging ...
According to Dr. Oz and You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for Extending Your Warranty (You) , hand strength reduces the rate of aging ... so this was one of several products I purchased as I implemented the Staying Young program. I am extremely happy with the construction of the product, the size, and the usability. Everyone in my family messes around with it when they see it setting around so I'll be buying the next levels up for them: Gripmaster Hand Exerciser Blue, Light Tension (5-Pounds per Finger) and Gripmaster Hand Exerciser Red, Medium Tension (7-Pounds per Finger) and Gripmaster Hand Exerciser Black, Heavy Tension (9-Pounds per Finger) . I am in my mid-40s and not the "strongest tool in the box" so I purchased this extra-light tension version so as to not inadvertently cause damage to any muscles, tendons, or ligaments. I made the right call with this tension level and enjoy using this device while I'm on my daily walks. Because you use the fingers separately or together, it gives you many more options for hand strengthening than the more typical grippers. Also, the package includes a glossy page of different exercises that you can do. The product came exactly as pictured. It's inexpensive, durable, attractive, and seems like you would use it forever (who doesn't have an opportunity to sit around a squeeze with your hands?) -- so I put this on the "everyone should get one" list. Bon Appetit!

Issues receiving correct exerciser.
Overall, I think this is a solid product that helps strengthen fingers for things such as guitar and typing, just to name a few. The strength of the yellow (X-light) is probably a good starting point for most women, or those who need to build strength from an average-ish lower-average strength. I had tried to order the red (medium) strength exerciser, but received this yellow instead. When I filed a return order, I was pleasantly surprised at the great customer service which said it would send me the red exerciser and I could keep the yellow for free. Unfortunately, I received a second yellow one instead, and now I'm unable to contact anybody about the error, so I have two exercisers that don't fit my need, and no apparent way to get an exchange or refund. (The return button was removed after the first issue.) If the company sees this and can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. As it stands, it looks like I'll have to pay out an additional $10-14 for a stronger version of this, which is very disappointing.

Cool!
As soon as I put it in my hand the first time and started squeezing it, I loved this little thing, it feels GREAT in my hand, very ergonomic design, and the springs are nice and strong too (even though it's the lightest model!). I would recommend this model the highest over the next three for somebody who is just beginning to strengthen their hands, it says right in the packaging that, "Hand specialists recommend lower tension and more repetitions than higher tension..." etc. The springs aren't quite strong enough for my index and middle fingers, but are perfectly strong for my ring finger and pinky, which are the fingers I'm trying to work out the most (just on my left hand, for playing bass guitar). The blue 5 pound exerciser would probably be too much for my pinky and ring finger, and I would probably end up over-doing things and get tendonitis again in my left hand, so follow what they say, lower tension and more reps! It works great as a stress reliever, or something to mess around with, so more reps over a long period of time would be better anyways!

GET A GRIP
The Grip Masters are wonderful exercisers for the hand and forearm. Each finger is exercised individually, not collectively as with many of the other exercisers. It is made very well with quality materials. It looks like it will last a very long time. I bought this Grip Master with X-Light Tension for my 6 year old grandson, and it turned out to be too easy for him. X-Light Tension is more for someone trying to rehab following an injury in my opinion. So I bought a package including three Grip Masters, including a 5 lb,, 7 lb., and a heavy tension. I gave my grandson the 5 and 7 lb. exercisers and I kept the heavy one. Now he is more challenged and so am I. I will probably give him the heavy tension Grip Master when he goes to high school. These are great exercisers and I highly recommend them.

Consigliato incondizionatamente!

Great little item
I have a few of these, in different tensions, and they are great. Primarily, I got the light and the medium to improve my finger strength for playing piano, but my partner recently had an injury that required exercising her tendons to rehabilitate her hand, I also invested in the XX light and X light. Though too easy for anyone with "normal" strength in their hands, they prove to be challenging enough to rebuild strength for those who need to start at a lower resistance. The design is elegant, as each finger can be exercised individually as the springs are independent of each other, or you can just squeeze them all for a full hand workout. I found this particularly useful for strengthening my pinkie for playing guitar...as we use all the other fingers more frequently in our daily lives, our pinkies tend to not have much "grip". They sit comfortably in the hand, thanks to the contoured foam, and can be used in either hand by simply turning them around. One observation would be that they are not cheap, so you may be better finding one in a shop and working out your starting point before investing in the next one up from Amazon. If you need to develop finger strength and grip, or need a little booster to your rehab following an injury, these gizmos are a perfect choice.
