Praxis Core and PLT Prep: 9 Practice Tests + Proven Strategies + Online (Kaplan Test Prep)

This book helped me learn the information I needed to ace my elementary school Praxis tests. The math section is super helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone studying for their Praxis test. It's a helpful starting point even if you are planning on teaching middle school because it has all the basics about each subject test and reviews the test format and strategies.

I have been out of school for a few years. I only used this book to study and I passed the first 3 parts, the parts you take before entering an education program. I also love that it has the guide for the teacher licensure part of Praxis. Great investment. It also gives test taking strategies and how to move quickly through the test.

This book works wonders! After failing the Math Praxis two times previously, I researched multiple study materials and read the reviews for the Kaplan. I didn’t want to take it too serious about guaranteeing I pass, but I was willing to try. I definitely helped. One thing I would emphasize is making sure that the test taker studies every day or every other to maintain what they learn.

Great for the extra hints to help pass the math praxis.However, it doesn't have a full exam in the book; all practice tests have only 30 questions, and many of them are much easier than those on the actual math praxis. It breaks everything down into math subject areas which is good to help you better define the kind of questions being asked. It also has a few mistakes in it and is lacking in giving you all the formulas/questions you need for the actual test.

I bought this to help me pass the math praxis the first time! I was shicked to see it talk about the core praxis, but knowing what is in the core tests prepares you to pass the state praxis! Worth the money!

The book itself is pretty useless. You could get the same exact information with a simple google search. The book basically just explains the structure of the test and how to go about answering a multiple choice question (process of elimination or choosing numbers to plug in for math questions). The math section reviews basic math rules such as exponents, square roots, and fractions - which, again, can be found on google or youtube. The practice tests were the only useful part of this purchase - but these were on the computer and the interface was pretty different from the actual exam. I think I would've preferred a book that went into more detail on the math sections and that had all of the material in one place. With that being said, I did score well above the passing score requirement on my first try using only this and a practice exam purchased directly from the ETS website as my only study materials.

Effective prep and practice!

Well after I took my Praxis I still get the new edition because I loan them out and never get them back. It keeps me up to date on all the core curriculum methods and subjects.
