Q: Is Ajax dishwashing liquid a detergent?

Yes, the pictured Ajax liquid is a detergent...but the newer "Ultra" formulation they've changed to and now on the market smells more like a poisonous chemical that you certainly don't want on your dishes or pet bowls. Totally ruined a product that worked just fine the way it was.

Q: can I use this for dishwasher

No ...it's just like any hand dishwashing soap. Not for dishwasher

Q: What happens if it is added to water that has bleach in it?

I have added this to water with bleach in it but have only used about 2 capfuls of bleach. It has the same effect that a normal dish liquid has. The odor of the two mixing together is a bit strong but the same as if you were using regular dish liquid. However, I limited the amount of bleach to two capfuls just in case there was some type of chemical reaction. So far, I have not had bad reactions to the mixture of the two. This is in no way a professional assessment and all information herein was based on personal experience and not intended to be used in the literal sense. Use at your own risk.
