I had been without a remote for my Panasonic DVD player for over 5 years, during which had to use the buttons on the player itself to operate it and was limited only to the functions 'play/pause', 'open/close disk draw' and 'turn player on/off'. I could not fast forward or back, enable subtitles, choose scenes or watch the special features of a film, or perform actions which require arrows. This was irritating but livable, which is why I put off getting a new remote for so long. However, the other day the situation became unbearable. I found this reasonably priced remote which I recognised as the same one I used to have. It arrived quickly and I almost cried for joy as I was finally able to watch the commentary for Star Trek: First Contact and pause and play so easily, without even having to leave my seat. Its battery has not yet run out, as it's a low power device, and its compact size make it easy to hold in one hand, though it is also very easy to lose, so be careful. It is easy enough to work out what the buttons do, as well, though I haven't used them all yet.

Remote was just what we needed, works fine.

Superb - works perfectly on my DVD-558 Panasonic DVD player. No more to say.
