Offloading Post-Op Shoe

This shoe has its Pros and Cons, based on what is most important to you: -Do you want a lower platform or is a higher platform ok? Some folks may not have a tall platform shoe to wear with a taller Forefoot Offloading Shoe. Me, I have a huge selection of platform shoes so platform height wasn’t a concern for me. -Do you want rounded toe box or a square toe box? While I prefer rounded, I was willing to wear whichever shoe would relieve my pain the most. -Do you want an “even” walking feel or are you ok with an Offloading Shoe that “sinks” your heel a bit? I thought I wanted a nice “even” feel, but the design which sunk my heel down a bit kept more pressure off of my forefoot making walking less painful. So I wound up preferring the less-painful (to my foot) sunk-heel design. -Higher platforms tend to sink your heel while standing/walking; lower platforms seemed to keep my foot more even … but I found the sunken heel relieved more of my foot pain (top priority) as it kept more weight off of my forefoot. While I experienced back-muscle pain with both tall and short platforms, as you have an uneven gait while wearing the shoe, other reviewers mention the back-muscle pain is only temporary as you’ll either get used to walking in the Shoe or you’ll be healed and can stop wearing the Shoe :-) This shoe is AMAZING: The three highly adjustable straps made for a perfect fit whether broad or narrow foot, design of the ankle strap prevented any shoe slippage without cutting off circulation (I have a narrow heel so this was my favorite feature), the shoe without socks feels soft on your skin, it has a rounded toe box, it did not slip on carpet or tile, and it’s a SHORTER platform. I purchased a second shoe to compare (See Photos). If you’re looking for a shorter platform and a solid adjustable fit then you will l o v e this Forefoot Offloading Shoe :-)

I broke two toes ughhh and was in chronic pain bearing any weight on them , googled this boot and was in two minds as reviews were mixed . As they would deliver it overnight I took a chance ! Glad I did !! What a relief!! Foot fits snugly with the Velcro straps and walking now is not a pain, I do feel like Frankenstein walking ! But at least I’m not in pain ! For the money totally worth it . I’m a klutz so probably will get more use out of it at some point haha !

This shoe works 100% better than the surgical shoe from the hospital. The shape of the sole prevents the foot from bending just like the surgery shoe, BUT the flat bottom of the hospital shoe makes heal walking very difficult and often the toes slam down on the ground, causing pain. This shoe from Amazon makes heal walking so easy and painless!

Does well in keeping injured foot from bending. Makes it easier to walk. It is very flat. No arch support.

So first off, the sizing - the sizes align more with women's than men's, so while I would've ordered a medium in most others, I was a LARGE (women's 9) in this brand. Once I double checked to make sure I was ordering the right size though, it was GREAT! (Putting a screenshot of sizing for quick reference, bc I had to check it more than once lol) My dog (accidentally!) bit my foot right by the toes, and lucked out finding "offloading shoes" (whew!). I ordered this one because the wedge size was the most reasonable - a lot of them are 2-2.75", and at 1.5", I thought this would be less off-kilter. Turned out to be great! The stability is REAL - and with the 1.5" heel size, I could wear my biggest sneaker on the other foot and be very comfy and not uneven (like I would walking with one foot 2" higher than the other). (My sneaker was an old Kizik with a heel and footbed height of almost 1", so there wasn't too big a difference or hip pain when walking.) I don't know about wearing it all day, but I wore it for errands and it was great. Straps were easy to size and trim, and I was able to keep the first two straps tight and the strap nearest the toes (where the bite was) loose enough for comfort while still keeping the shoe on securely. It's a little weird at first - like learning how to walk in heels again, but backwards - but then super comfy. Great support and very reasonable! Would definitely buy again (but hopefully my dog won't mistake my foot for a toy again).

These run in weird sizes. For reference, I am a woman’s size 7 shoe and this was too big barely but small would have probably been too small. None are made for left or right foot, so they look really weird. The straps are a weird Velcro that doesn’t have a top or bottom. I can’t even explain this, except to say that they won’t seal properly, so you will have lint (basically anything you step on) sticking to the soft Velcro part, that covers the majority of the top of the “shoe”. *****I highly recommend getting the ones that HAVE A SINGLE, LARGE VELCRO COVER FOR THE TOP OF THE SHOE. Just look closely at different photos & you’ll see what I mean. These have two or 3 straps that don’t connect. That’s right. You have to add it yourself and then cut it to size. All of these are really hard to use, without crutches. You will fall if you put any weight on it, whatsoever. It makes walking, even around the house, incredibly difficult and dangerous. I can only compare it to walking on platform stilettos when you’re not a stripper and your calves don’t work. They’re a death trap. I can barely recommend the others and all run big so small was too big in another size.

Got this boot/shoe for my dad because he had a diabetic ulcer under his big toe and we wanted it to close. Him being a busy business owner he couldn’t really take days off too much so I got his this shoe to help him so at least he doesn’t bend his toe where the wound was healing. After 2 weeks with this shoe and meds my dad’s wound healed! And I’m so happy this shoe helped him get around while getting better! He said it was pretty comfortable and my dad is pretty particular about his shoes but he said it was great! 10/10 recommended!

This shoe was a perfect fit but… there is no Velcro closure for the it to wrap around your foot ?? Just straps with Velcro on top off the part that wraps around your foot… so I will have to add Velcro to make sure the shoe doesn’t slip off my foot … I ordered a Medium and I wear a 8.5 women’s wide the length was perfect and the width is also perfect but for $24.95 I wish I didn’t have to buy. More Velcro to add … I have a broken toe so no bandages maybe that’s the difference.. I wouldn’t suggest this design for no bandages unless you want to have to customize the fit.. I ordered this model because it had 3 straps to hold on my foot… Alexa suggested that… I’ll be deciding if I’m going to keep it or send back …I am keeping the shoe I put a thick padding under my toes ( very helpful for pain) and put on a bulky fuzzy sock and now the shoe fits perfectly no slipping!

This shoe is convenient but the sole is SO hard and makes it at times painful to walk in. An air cast is more comfortable than this shoe.
