Kinex 4100 Mechanical Water Timer

I have a large yard and I use several mechanical water timers rather than electrical ones. Finding a reliable mechanical timer has been difficult. I’ve tried several brands over the years. A few months ago I bought one of these timers. It worked well so I ordered two more. One of the new ones failed within days, it had a serious leak from within the unit that leaked water at about a gallon a minute. The other one failed to turn off most of the time. Then this week, the remaining one failed, refusing to turn off.

The timer worked for a couple of years of light duty. This year it failed, leaking water from where the casing seals are, and it ended up not turning the water off.
