Are the wheels squeaky, or do they make loud noise like those loud squeaky shopping carts?

The wheels are not squeaky, but they are made of hard rubber so the whole cart is really noisy while transporting things, even on smooth surfaces. It does what it's supposed to do, but if noise is a concern. Look somewhere else.

Why did the box containing the dolly have a warning about a chemical?

Strict california laws have to warn you of the very least thing.

I need to move some stones to my backyard. Will it work going through the yard

I use it to haul mulch bags around my yard and to move heavy stuff from my van to the back yard. I don;t have a problem on the grass as long as I keep moving slowly. If you go too fast and the load isn't balanced of course stuff might fall off. So drop off something and come back and get it after you unload the rest. My grass is bumpy from mole tunnels and the dirt is soft because we have alot of sand in our soil here in FL. I have not had any problems but it is best to pull rather than push on bumpy surfaces. I have hauled bags of stones and patio pavers on it across grass too.

Not for heavy loads

It's ok for light weight items. Screw driver is bigger than the provides screws. Wheels are little bit wobbly.
