A great read for divers at all levels of interest
Originally ordered this book while living near the Oregon coast and wanting to pursue diving. I have since relocated to the high desert, but would still like to obtain my PADI certification and believe this publication, "Scuba Diving" by author Dennis K Graver is largely why my interest has not faded. Written in a clear, concise manner, with many details that are important to the existing, and "would be" diver. Sharing his wealth of knowledge for new divers to the sport, he does not wear out or bore the experienced or seasoned diver. I consider this book to be a great, and permanent addition to your diving library.

Wonderful refresher
I hadn't dove for a number of years, so I got this to serve as a refresher. I found it to be easy to read and just the right level to help me comfortably get back in the water.

Overview
Good reference material to refresh your basic safety knowledge if you haven't been in the water for a while, or just need to brush up on your knowledge. The introduction to some specialties such as Nitrox and mixed gas diving is good information and wets the appetite for this type of training and diving experience.Recommended up to professional or advanced diving level.

Excellent book!
All the questions you had to ask, and all the answers you need to know. This a a great book for those wanting to be certified. I plan on it over the summer after a first few intro dives. Well written and easy to understand, it explains in depth, what your instructors are teaching you. I used this as a pre PADI certification, and will certainly reference back to it.This book is a "must read" for those wishing to learn to learn all there is to know about this fabulous sport.

Okay, but not quite what I needed
I read this book to prepare for my scuba certification open water dives as it had been some time since my pool sessions. I wished there were more technical material about what one should do and how one should dive. I did appreciate how the author tried to explain the motivation behind certain SCUBA principles with science. Some of the pictures appeared very low resolution on my phone.

Great resource
As both a new diver and a midwest diver I have not had an opportunity to work with dive tables on a regular basis. When I was trained we used the SEI tables and I was struggling to find resources online to help me to understand the tables better. This book uses the SEI tables and has step-by-step instructions on how to use it. That was just one section with which I was impressed, there is an entire book yet to explore!

Great book
A little too much emphasis on scaring you up front, but VERY comprehensive. I was on my way to my first dive trip in 13 years, and wanted to survive. I ended up having to go through a refresher when I got there, and they were surprised at how much I knew. Only picked up a few things that weren't in the book during the refresher, and they were mainly tips.

Scuba Diving
Great over view. Not overly verbose. I personally world like more of the technical aspects addressed, but that is for another book.Issues - diagrams, tables, and graphs do not display well in the digital format. They are actually quite bad on a Kindle and marginal on a iPad.
