Perfect Dye-Free Red, but melted
These sprinkles were the perfect red to spruce up the dye-free ladybug cake I was attempting to make. I put the sprinkles on the night before (should have known better for this one) and the dye kind of melted into the icing by morning. No worries, I smoothed it in a bit and then redid them. They had melted again by party time, but I think it still turned out okay. I believe it would be best to put them on right before serving the cake though. All in all, I was satisfied with the purchase and very happy with how many sprinkles I got for the price. I will be able to use them for several other baking projects. :)

Smell before using
Be cautious be sure to smell the sugar before using it. I had purchased three red jars and three green jars. The green were great but the red were all rancid smelling. I had opened all of them for my grandkids to use while we were making gingerbread houses. Thankfully the smell was sufficiently overpowering to alert us that something was not right. Watkins products have always been great so I was very surprised and disappointed.
