This tool works great. Saves time with it being one purpose built tool instead of finding 2-3 separate tools to built a makeshift contraption to get the job done. Glad I purchased it, just wish I did it sooner.

This tools works by pushing evenly on both sides of the caliper to retract the pistons. Be sure to read the guide or review the video. You will need to assist the tool with a small amount of resistance on both side till the tool fit snug. Then you can rachet the pistons open. If you do not the tool will appear broken and not expand the blades. You will need to apply pressure to the blades when returning the tool to it's smallest setting.

Definitely need these in your toolbox for doing a brake job , particularly with the new style calipers. The new style prevents you from using a “C” clamp to depress the pistons. This allows you to get the job done.Like other reviewers have said it can be a little annoying to get it started. You need some resistance for it to catch. Regardless, it definitely makes things easier though.

The ratchet effect is nice. It works well and I like the detachable plates. Good price. Well built

Ratchet came apart during first use. Do not recommend…cheap and flimsy.

I like it a lot before I used it, first time I used it was on a Jeep, one of the pads busted off of the tool, was not welded on very well. I'll have to weld it back together, and reinforced the other welds.

The item was fantastic. I recommended to anyone who likes to do breaks and makes the job easy

Truthfully, I thought these were going to be one and done... BUT I am really surprised that they were built Very sturdily and was really easy to use..Worth the money in ease of mind..C clamps have a place but what a pain in the but..
