Floating Trout Net

I purchased a net back in December 2025 and I have put in already countless hours with this net , and I can tell you even this early on this is the only net I’ll ever buy again (if I have to ever buy one again!) if you’re searching for net with the high quality and sleek look, but without that high price tag this is it . I went with the 13”x18” size and it a perfect size for Stillwater, which I do mainly little big for small streams. But a good all around size I would say , My favorite feature is the floatability has already saved me from losing this net and makes it super convenient when unhooking fish and getting good pictures , the net is made out of a soft silicone material “much better than those clear ones you see“. It feels like very very durable and very snag resistant making it an ease to remove the hook . Stitching are extra strong and well designed it also includes a, elastic leash and quality carabiner , overall if you like a good quality net good build that’s gonna last you and looks good too also has the added bonus of floating ! buy this net now ! , tight lines ! never stop fishing ! 🎣🦟🌲

I love this net! The holes are super small so your fish or hooks don't fall through the net - I hardly get tangled up anymore. This has a completely rubberized net as well. Compared to other nets, this is super great quality at the price point. It's small with a big net so portability is great. I hope it lasts a long time.

This seems to be a solid net. This is the net that the Old Dominion fly fisher uses. He highly recommends it on his gear breakdown video and I totally agree. It’s very lightweight.

So far I have used this net to land exactly one fish... but it worked admirably. I was searching online for reviews of nets and stumbled onto a fly fishing guide's review of different nets. He recommended this net for its depth and affordability. There is no way any fish is going to be able to flip out of this net. I also like that the bottom is flat so that the rest of the net stays out of the way while you extract the hook. The one, very slight, issue I had was the supplied retention device is junk. It's an elastic band with a tiny carabiner that doesn't stay closed. I found a cheap magnetic device on Amazon to go with the net, and it worked perfectly.

The Frabill Floating Trout Net is a fantastic addition to my fishing gear. Its floating design makes it super easy to retrieve if dropped in the water. Will this nicely-designed landing net handle a steelhead? Yes! How about a chinook salmon? Absolutely!! I know because I bought this Frabill net specifically for a trip to the Pulaski NY area to fish for migrating salmon, and I was lucky enough to nab a few. You don't want to make the mistake of taking a trout landing net on a salmon fishing expedition. This is what you want, trust me. The net has a good ergonomic design, and it's offered at a really good price. Get it!

Great backpack net that has enough backbone for fish up to the size of steelhead.

These nets are perfect for fishing from kayaks...not only are they relatively small and portable, they also come with carabiners so that they can be attached to kayaks, so they don't fall off and end up down the river if you're not paying attention. I bought two of these for my 12 & 14 yr old sons who love fishing from kayaks and these nets could not have been better for them. They float, so if the net is dropped into the water, they're not heading for the bottom as other fishing nets would. The mesh material is coated with rubber so they're easier on the fish for catch & release and don't snag up treble hooks as badly as a fabric net. 5 stars on this net, definitely recommend.

Pricey but terrific .. like the fish friendly netting .. the floating feature and the size .. the bungee cord on the handle isnt long enough to hang from ones d ring on the backside of one's vest

Like most fly fishers, I've had numerous landing nets which weren't "quite right" over the years. They were either too big, too small, too heavy, or the mesh would trap hooks (even barbless) when trying to quickly release fish. Frabill has quite literally checked all of the boxes with this net! A magnet on the edge of the hoop easily holds to the back of my vest, the size and curved handle are just right, and the mesh has just enough coating to eliminate hooks getting caught, while not being too heavy / coarse to harm the fish. IMHO ... this is the best landing net for trout, smallmouth, etc. available.
