I want to interface with obd2 port, is the only required connection can h/l? i am connected and i don't see any traffic with a logic analyzer anywhere

You'll need to connect three pins: Pin 6 - CAN Hi, Pin 14 - CAN Lo, and either Pin 4 - Chassis Ground or Pin 5 Signal Ground.

Will this work with the beagle bone black and can i use one on each of the two canbus ports?

What library is being used for successful coms? i have an esp32 feather and have tried several libraries to read can data on a vw with no luck!
