I had to replace the gpu fan in mine. Either cpu or gpu are exactly the same fan. I would only recommend doing this if you are confident with your ability of getting into the computer. Honestly the hardest part is using a pry tool (or a credit card like me) to get the base off of the body to access the fans at all. Once your in, it is a strip of tape and a simple plug, then 4 screws and your good to go. They say to disconnect the battery in tutorials but honestly don’t bother with Helios. The chassis acts as a ground so once you remove it you can’t short out what already doesn’t have power.Overall, exactly what I wanted.10/10

Perfect replacement for the PH315-51-78NP OEM fans. Even though they do not seem as good as the originals because the blades are plastic, I noticed no difference in their ability to regulate the temperatures of my Predator.They may appear too small in your hand, but they are the correct size.

I tried to crack the case open and was unsuccessful, THEN i watched a video and found the secret to unsnapping the perimeter. The project is really simple and in just a few minutes I had both fans replaced in my Acer Predator Gaming Laptop. Usually it is a dust problem that stops the fans, in my case Im not sure why one failed completely and the other was barely turning. Most likely bearings bad. No matter, Note: it will help to have magnetic phillips screwdrivers in two sizes, one being really small for the hdd screws.
