I think the negative reviews are mostly due to unrealistic expectations. Of course a lip gloss is not going to make your lips look like you got them inflated at a clinic. Nothing topical can do that. But for a lip gloss, this stuff does make lips look slightly “done”. Meaning it makes them look a little bit plumper and reduces the appearance of lines on your lips. It cannot reduce the look of lines above your lips, only the ones ON your lips. I love the color and the feel of it. It’s not too sticky. It just feels good on my lips. It is not all day wear - you will have to reapply especially after eating and drinking. It does stay nice looking on me for hours if I’m not eating and drinking. Every all-day lip color I’ve ever tried, does not give any plumping look. And any plumping lip gloss I’ve tried, must be reapplied at least after eating. But I’ve tried many lip products over the years and rarely liked one as much as I like this one. This is my new fave!

I only got the gloss finished because that’s all they had. I don’t like the color it’s too pink. The Matt color that I had before was wonderful and it was a burgundy light burgundy. I also had the gloss finished to put over it which was wonderful. Since they have combined the color with the gloss, it is horrible. It doesn’t go on good, it does not plump my lips. and what’s worse when you put it on if you have just a little bit of wind, your hair sticks to it it’s horrible. It’s a horrible product. And I’m not a complainer I would give this a minus one, if I could.

Almost all lip products at least add a bit of pleasant fragrance, since it goes near the mouth and is right under the nose. I only bought this because of numerous ads on an internet show I watch. For the price, a bit of pleasant fragrance should be added…vanilla, fruity, minty, herbal, so I don’t just smell chemicals under my nose.As for the color, wow! Other reviews complained about the watermelon color, but if you don’t like it, please send it my way! I’ll take it, maybe after adding a drop of some essential oil. I’m a Barbie girl. The instructions say to use this twice a day, and that means I have some fun to look forward to after washing my face before bed and can retire with the most beautiful shade of moist lips.

Nice color but I don't see the plumpness that it is suppose to show. I'm disappointed because I used this product before and it did what it was intended to do. Unfortunately this one does not. Sad!

I was on a girls trip up North. All my friends were complaining about dry lips. I was the only one using this product and I had moisturized lips the whole time, no dryness. Also, I find this stays on longer than other lip glosses I’ve tried. It plumps my lips a little bit but the main reason I ordered my second lip gloss is how amazing it moisturizes my lips. I won’t go through another winter without it.

I LOVED the clear one and felt it was moisturizing and made my lips look young but adding pigment to it and it goes all wrong. This is sticky and tacky.

I love the city lips clear plumping gloss so I wanted to try one of the colors. I don’t like the glitter look so I went for the plain pink. It was like slapping hot pink paste onto my lips. Not moisturizing, wayyy brighter than it appears in the photos, and too thick to put anything else on over/under. It’s awful.

No it doesn't plump...but applied and stay on so well that it just makes your lips look great. Sticky? for a few minutes but lasts hours. I like the sheer better. I bought one that I thought was sheer but is a more solid pink ...I use a lip brush with that and it doesn't feel like such a blob of color and has that great city lips application and longevity
