On the Run (Whispering Key)

Goodness i swooned hard! These two... Gah! Love em to bits!We've met Beale in book one. Strong, dependable and level headed. He's a bit quirky with his crystals and life view so tends to get overlooked as a bit dumb i guess. It felt like everyone saw him as a bit of a joke but in reality he's incredibly deep and insightful. Hes a free spirit with a calm demeanor until Toby enters his life in all his drama queen snarky glory!Oh my heart Toby! I broke my heart over him! He's one of the best characters i've ever read. He pulled on the old heart strings with his belief that he wasn't ever good enough. His front is so endearing. He's funny and so dramatic he couldn't help but make you laugh and smile. But it was his heart i loved. He's so protective and caring and loving. He tries so hard to hide it but Beale saw it straight off.These two together were an absolte joy. I loved Beales ability to read Toby. And vice versa for Toby. Almost immediately they had telepathic conversations with just a look and if that isn't Soul Mates i don't know what is.I had a little sniffle. Ok maybe a cry. Ok ok it was sobbing for Toby after his conversation with his best friend Mason. I have to say Mason was in my bad books for a while there! I was so happy when Beale finally made things happen instead of waiting for fate.Fantasic storyline. Made me fall for this town even more! I wanna move to the Key!Oh and PS... size matters! Lol errr yum!PPS... i was so happy for Marjorie! She got a second Daddy! LolBring on Rafe!

Beale, the adorably open nature's child who believes in the power of the universe, crystals and soul mates, was one of the standout side characters in Off Plan, book one in the Whispering Key series. I'm so glad to say he's every bit as adorable in his own story. Toby is his partner in this fake boyfriend trope, opposites attract tale. Toby's character is a lot - I mean a LOT - to deal with. There are genuine reasons for his pattern of behaviour and the facade he presents hides a caring side and a set of principles he rarely lets people see. He was, at times though, just a bit too much for me.Overall, I really enjoyed On The Run and seeing the wonderful cast of characters on the island again...and I really, really hope that the next trip back to Whispering Key will be soon as there's great potential for the next couple too...4* for Beale and Toby.

Another good read from Ms Archer. It's very well written, and the dialogue is first class. I was eager to get my hands on Beale's book, l loved his character in the previous book. It was Toby, however, who took the story to another level. He was so sweet and funny, and surprisingly vulnerable. He was also incredibly sassy and snarky. My only complaint was the whole misunderstanding aspect, it seemed so out of character for Beale to refuse to listen to Toby's explanation for what had happened. Still, I did enjoy it, and look forward to the next book.

So very much enjoyed reading about Beale finding his own HEA and that Toby found someone who won't give up on him! Plus he's near his bestie too!

It's not often I laugh out loud at a story or cry with happiness. This book caused both these things and sadness that the story ended. I shall think fondly of Beale and Trey-Toby and hope that these lovely men feature again.

Whispering Key is filled with wonderful characters. This book made me laugh and cry. Loved it so much. Must read.

Beale and Trey-Toby henceforth known at Teale have no words to describe them! I do hope that somewhere in the world this place actually exists and I want to find it and be everyone’s best friends.Also everyone needs the advice of Aunt Hagatha. May Archer is on my list of celebrity people to invite for dinner- if her books are anything to go by it will be an absolute joy of an evening.This book certainly has that feel good factor.It’s escapism at its best, forget your worries for a few hours and open the pages of this book. Funny, sweet, funny with loveable characters -did I mention funny? - and the bonus is we don’t have to wait too long for the next instalment.

Oh flip its not often I'll cry at a book but I howled at part of this one!! The reason is I loved Toby and Beale so much as a couple, they're perfect together. I'm a big fan of May Archer books in general and just discovered the whispering key series. Her books are always very funny, with madcap characters (and believe me I want their stories too) but something about these opposites tugged on my heart strings. Soulmates rule.
