Got my ceiling fan back up and running. Been working very well for about 6 months now.I personally depend very heavily on reviews that are posted on Amazon, as do many other consumers. I not only read what reviewers say, but look to see what their pictures reveal about a products true quality and description. I aim to not only feature the products I review in many different aspects, analyzing many qualities, I also provide my own opinions on ALL the good AND bad experiences I have with the product I review. I take time to learn and use a product as it was intended before I review it, and I have used this specific product thoroughly.My rating system:5 - Met all my expectations. Was described and pictured perfectly. Exactly what I wanted and needed. Extremely useful product and a great value. Would recommend to family and friends.4 - Very good product. Exactly as described. Fifteen years ago I bought two basic, traditional, 3-speed Hunter ceiling fans. For the past 5 years both have only functioned with 1 speed-- 1 on low & 1 on medium. I'd love to replace them with new, modern ones but after reading articles online, I decided to repair them, myself. After reading the online manual (who can find those on purchase made so long ago?), & opening the cover for the fan’s motor, i felt comfortable ordering these inexpensive switches. I followed the manual’s installation instructions to install them & after 10 minutes, each-- both of my fans had 3 speeds, again. Note: important to rotate the disc with the hole that the chain goes through, so that when motor is re-assembled you’ll be pulling on the chain that’s in alignment with where the chain is attached to the switch.

I finally had my neighbor fix my ceiling fan and it didn’t take him any time at all. It works great and it went in like it was supposed to do. It fit perfect. Will definitely use this company again.

This was an exact replacement for the switch in my ceiling fan.Here is a tip, take a photo of the original switch with the wires in place, then split the case (to release the wires). I know there is a pin hole to press the release for each individual wires but splitting the case is much easier and you can then just slid in the wires making sure they match the positions of wires in the photo you took. Probably should have said make sure the power is off before you do any electrical work. My fan had a quick-connect that allowed me to drop the whole light fixture down and I was able to work on it at my table.For a few buck, I saved a $200 fan.

This Akahhtbn Replacement Ceiling Fan Switch is a nice replacement one. You actually get two switches for a great value price of $7.99 . I ordered for a replacement switch for a “Hampton Bay” brand ceiling fan and it was just like the previous switch. Just mark your wires by using the numbers on each switch and it is an easy replacement. Much less to replace the switch than buy a new ceiling fan. I would recommend these replacement switches. The switch is probably a fairly comparable switch for many brand fans as long as they are a three speed ceiling fan.

The product information on Amazon tells you how to wire the switch. Do not expect instructions in the package. After gathering the tools needed it was a 5 minute job.

When I installed this new switch, it only gave me one speed coming from two different connection ports and two offs, or one nonworking and one off connection. This new switch's wire colors and wire connection numbering sequence do not match the wire color combinations discussed in the description. So it's incompatible with my 20+ years-old ceiling fan.
