LifeJacket 2 - Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker, Floating Portable Speaker for Travel & Outdoor Use, Deep Bass & Loud Sound, 30 Hour Playtime

I bought this for an bluetooth speaker and find myself taking advantage of the bike mount for my motorcycle, until I can get an actual sound system installed. The sound is okay and loud enough to where I can hear it well with ear plugs going 40-50 mph on my Vulcan. Above 50 mph, turn it off to save the battery, as this is advertised for motorcycles, the wind and engine easily overpower the speakers...w/o a helmet on it becomes harder to hear, at 60-70 mph, you can't hear them. But I don't do much highway or interstate driving so it works perfectly for the cruising I do. This is a good all around speaker, rode in a down pour speaker was just fine, it takes up a lot of space on the handle bar, but that is expected. Doesn't rattle loose and stays in place even on bumpy roads and higher speeds.

Amazing speaker. The bass is deep but not overpowering. Very little distortion maxing out the volume. The speaker can be very loud if you want to. I can have the volume at 60% on my phone and have it comfortably wash out every sound in my environment. The bluetooth range is also exceptional, I can walk a good distance away from it and not have it cut out, though I've never walked further than 20yds away from it. The battery life is ridiculous, I use it about 6 hours a day every day. I used it for 3 days straight without a recharge and it was still good to go. I'd recommend it to anyone.

So I bought this out of need because my cassette player in my jeep stoped working. And this thing is great. It’s loud enough to hear music over the road and wind sounds while driving. It’s easy to pair and use. But the biggest thing with this speaker is how tough it is. It’s lived it’s entire life in a open jeep for years now. Rain, snow, mud, sand, hot,cold nothing seems to effect it. I like it.

Happy that it’s waterproof and floats for the lake, the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired.

I would not have bought this if I knew it turned on at full volume with a stupid audio message every time you power it on. The speaker sounds great but this is too annoying.

While this is a very good speaker with good sound and range, Altec Lansing has this obnoxious setting so that EVERY time it’s powered on it announced “power on, welcome to Altec Lansing “….AT FULL VOLUME!!!! There appears to be no way to disable or even quiet it down. It has made me prefer to use other devices even though the Lifejacket best suits my needs. I recommend you avoid all Altec Lansing products until you see a review that this terrible flaw is corrected. For reference, I have owned several Bluetooth speakers and this is the only one that screams at me when I power it up.

Long lasting charge and great sound.

I have mixed feelings on this because I love the speaker. I love the durability and the look, but ever since I connected it to my phone, which I paid hell to do because it insisted on telling me that I needed an app, the sound on my phones Bluetooth regardless of what device it is sounds muffled. And I have tried several different things to fix it. It seemed to work perfectly fine on my tablet. But the S22 Galaxy phone, not so much. Don't get me wrong, it works, I'm still gonna use it. It just irritates me a little bit. update: deleted the app and it connects fine now so I don't know what the issue was but it works perfectly fine now so all good

Product description should be updated as this has a 30 hour battery life

All together good, the plastic has started falling off tho
