Dura-Lar is billed as "the acetate alternative" -- what this means is that it is a sealed, plastic paper surface designed specifically for accepting paint and it is archival. It also means that the paint (in this case acrylic) dries on the surface and is highly manipulative. I've brushed, poured, breed, crippled and combed this work to achieve the high-chroma and complex patterns that suit my vision. This work is matted and professional framed in a simple black one-inch wide wooden frame. Greens and blues dominate, rose, magenta, purple and touches of lemon. I've used a comb to produce some of the effects, and powdered pigments as well. Intricate details and dynamic movement; I believe this is a painting to reward long looking, the mood is joyful.
