It might work okay in small applications but, it did not work well with our more advanced church sound system at church. We kept getting a lot of interference.

Some people like "warm", "rich" sounds, I tend to prefer "accuracy" to any other perceived tonal qualities. To wit, I love the way Sennheisers sound. They're always the most "accurate" to source, to my ear. I didn't use this with any multi-mic setup or anything extravagant or concert-related. Instead I got this to use in a studio I'm setting up to produce video content (such as product reviews). Some might say, why would you need a wireless microphone in a studio? Because I have enough cords in my life. There are USB cords and networking cables and charge cords and literally, ANYTHING I can get that's cordless? I get. With the possible exception of headphones, I really don't want that much wireless power right on my brain. The only disappointment that I had with these, was the lack of rechargeable batteries for the mic. I really thought it came with rechargeable batteries, but clearly I didn't read closely enough. Sennheiser, this is a $700 mic set. You're tellin me you couldn't find an extra dollar or 2 in the production cost of this for a rechargeable battery? Of course, they SELL the rechargeable batteries for them. So it becomes a micro-transaction of sorts. Not a fan of that, really. If my mic setup is a $150 setup, I don't mind putting batteries in it. As soon as a microphone hits the $500 level, I expect it to be rechargeable from the factory. With a nice long-lasting user-replaceable LiOn pack. Just my pet peeve. I hate feeding things batteries. The sound is great (and accurate to me), and it works flawlessly in my usage. Just wish it came standard with rechargeables. It's a minor gripe and I still recommend it. But get the rechargeables for the mic too, you'll appreciate them.

Requested this because the included 835-S handheld mic has a great reputation as an SM58 alternative, plus having a wireless mic in your arsenal can be very handy. That being said, this is way beyond a simple receiver/transmitter kit. Build quality is up to Sennheiser standard, I’m a huge fan of their headphones (which have lasted me the better part of a decade). The microphone is very sturdy, with a decent weight that is still comfortable to hold. Feels slightly wider, perhaps due to being large enough for the 2xAA batteries inside. Nice having a standard battery type, and they seem to last a while. Sennheiser states 8 hours, which sounds about right (battery level was at 78% after about 90 minutes). The receiver is compact but sturdy and there’s a rack mount kit in the box. Included power supply is pretty ordinary but they include adapters for pretty much every country’s outlets. Display is bright and CRISP. You can read it from pretty far away. I jumped into this without the manual and had the mic paired up in seconds. Power on the receiver, power on the mic, tap sync in the receiver then sync on the mic. Done. Luckily I DID read the manual too because that’s how I found out about the smartphone app. The receiver can connect to your iPhone via Bluetooth and the app lets you manage the receiver, help add new transmitters, and also update firmware for both receiver and transmitter units. Updating the mic took about a minute, the receiver took closer to 2 minutes. Recordings from the mic are clear. The mic comes with a clip but even handheld the handling noise was effectively zero. Very impressive. The 835-S isn’t an SM58 but I found it suited my voice well when singing through it, with the recordings sounding pretty darn good (connected the receiver to an Audient iD44 via XLR, recording into Logic on an M1 Mac). I also did some testing to see how well the receiver could track the mic while I walked around, recording myself as I went between rooms in the house, downstairs, outside, etc. Solid performance, although walls and floors are (understandably) problematic and cause drop outs. The manual even mentions the use of external antennas to help work around issues relating to walls at venues etc. Transmitter packs for your guitar / instrument are available too, which can also be paired to the same receiver and managed through the app (which shows you the battery level, neat). Scalability is pretty impressive.. if I’m reading it right, you could pair up to 16 transmitters. Overall, complete overkill for my current needs (especially during a pandemic) but being able to gig with a pro level wireless system is a blessing. No complaints. Sennheiser gear is solid. 5 stars.

Sennheiser has a reputation as a high quality audio company so I expected great things from this set up. It exceeded my expectations. Set up is fairly straight forward and took less than 3 minutes. You will want to download the app and update the firmware right away. The app works great and has some awesome features. But the really value of this microphone is the sound quality. It is incredible. Whether you are recording live and broadcasting, you get crystal clear and robust sound. It is incredibly natural and crystal clear. It is incredibly and worth every single penny.

I used it for all my gigs for a couple of years and it worked fine. Now during a every gig, it starts fine and then after a few songs, it just shuts itself off and will not come back on. How do I fix this problem?

We have used this for multiple home vocal performances. It shines amidst all the wireless noise in a typical home environment. It is crystal clear across 20 feet. The audio quality is Sennheiser so excellent. It works with most compliant mic holders. Really like having this around. Highly recommended for home audio and small space performances.

While the microphone appears to be functioning well, the packaging arrived in poor condition. The box was covered in tape all over, and the contents inside were disorganized and covered in dust, giving the impression that it had been opened and handled multiple times, resembling used items in a disorderly state.
