I have a genetic issue called batters syndrome that makes it where my body does not absorb enough sodium to function properly as well as I am an endurance runner(which doesn't work well when you can't properly stay hydrated). All this make it where I need more sodium than the average person just to stay hydrated. This product helps me to maintain my sodium to a place my Dr is ok with, though it still is lower than the normal ranges. The pills themselves are large but easy to break. I take it in halves through out the day which works best for me due to the fact I have to take so much sodium and if I take the full amount my body will just expell what it thinks is excess though it's not. Through experimenting my Dr and I found taking the halves helps maintain my active lifestyle as well as my sodium level to a range she is happy with.

The sodium tablets seem to be working to keep the person's salt level up.

I've had eye surgery so my upper eyelids have been sretched and are thin, but a few hours after taking a half tablet I looked in the mirror and saw I had excessive swelling of my upper eyelids which is caused by excessive sodium intake. I have low sodium from bp medication and my Dr is always after me to increase my sodium intake but the swelling is excessive and ridiculous. I'll have to go back to electrolyte drinks because they add in potassium to counter the unwanted swelling effect of sodium. Other than that I tolerated taking the sodium tablet fairly well by letting it dissolve in my mouth instead of swallowing it, which I read could also have caused the swelling of my eyelids more so than ingesting it. I'll be brave and try swallowing it with a meal next time, that should help prevent the puffiness.

I have a genetic electrolyte disorder that unbalances the sodium in my system so that basically any time I work out or it is warm outdoors I lose (literally) nearly every ion of sodium out of my body in the forms of respiration, perspiration, or urination. Therefore, I need to have larger amounts of sodium on hand should I begin to feel overheated or dizzy. This brand is great as it’s simply salt without any extra supplements or additives that I don’t need, and is scored so it can easily be broken in half when I don’t need the entire amount. No taste, easy to swallow, straightforward. I will buy on repeat!

The pills are horse pills. If I had known I would not have purchased. Way too large to swallow. Not disclosed in the listing.

Just the cost was higher than the last purchase.
