Hello. Freeze-dried acerola powder does not require refrigeration. Room temperature is best, and we recommend storing it away from direct sunlight (cupboard for example). And always ensure the ziplock is properly sealed to prevent the powder from clumping up. I hope this helps!

How does this powder taste? Is it unpleasant?

The taste of acerola powder can be characterised as sweet-tart, fragrant and astringent. There’s a hint of acidity and a clean, crisp aftertaste. Some would also describe it as tangy or sour. It’s definitely not unpleasant. But if the taste is not to your liking, you can very easily mask it by mixing it with other drinks or food. I hope this helps!

What happens to the Acerola powder after the Best Before / expiry date please?

If properly stored (sealed and away from moisture), acerola powder will last several months past the BBE date. Approximately 6 months after the BBE date, the powder will gradually start to become less potent as the vitamins start to degrade. At this point, still perfectly safe to consume but the potency will be reducing slightly. And it takes much longer than that - many months or potentially years - for it to 'go off'.
