Bought it to wrap my son’s arm cast in so he could play soccer . Works well

So I got this Artilife Closed Cell Sponge Foam Sheet Roll, mainly because I thought, “Hey, sponge foam sounds like a cozy mattress for my life’s problems.” But then I hit a snag: what the heck is “closed cell” anyway? Is it a secret society of sponge cells that don’t talk to outsiders? A foam version of a VIP club where only certain bubbles get to hang out? Or maybe it’s just foam that refuses to let water crash its party? Honestly, I have no idea, but it sounds important and science-y enough to justify my purchase. Anyway, this foam roll is surprisingly versatile. It’s dense, squishy, and somehow both firm and soft at the same time — like hugging a marshmallow made out of steel. I tried using it for all kinds of stuff: padding, insulation, cushion for my aching soul. It’s been a loyal companion through thick and thin (literally). If you want a foam that’s like a secret agent sponge — tough, water-resistant, and totally mysterious — this is it. Just don’t ask me to explain “closed cell.” I’m still googling that.

This worked perfectly for what we used it for: Going down the natural waterslide at Devil’s Bathtub in SD. It was the perfect size. I don’t have a picture of us actually using it, but this is what it looks like unrolled. The size is perfect for the width of the slide and for kids and adults. Do roll it and put a harness on it so you can carry it like a cross body purse as you will need your hands for the hike.

I was looking for padding to put on my 2 post lift to protect the vehicle doors when getting in or out of the vehicle. I used half on each side and installed it with spray on contact adhesive. It is doing that job perfectly. it is soft enough not to mar the finish and dense enough to protect the doors.

Quality product and price - cut easily. I wanted it for padding of a ski bag, and it fit the purpose very well. No odor, and it bounces back fine after being compressed; not brittle and flexible to the extent that I need it to be.

Quality is good but the measurements are not accurate. I ordered the 60” length and it was only 58”. Had to return because I needed the 60” full length.

On the expensive side... Top quality product..

I was looking for something more like sponge, or for cushioning, and this is unfortunately just a soft, very dense foam sheet on a roll. It isn’t as firm as cosplay foam, but it isn’t light enough to be used in construction of puppets or stuffed toys. It sort of sits in the middle where you just have a very soft and pliable material that is easily cut but still too heavy for most crafts, and too soft for the rest. If you are just looking for insulation or something to protect your stuff I am sure this is fantastic. It looked a lot lighter and like it had more give to it in the application photos but no. It’s soft, but very high density foam.
