Fine Print Volume 1 Review: An amazing story with an interesting world. - There's not a single comic or a book from this man that I wouldn't read, simply because I know Stjepan Sejic knows how to write a good story. His stories have everything you could ask for. An interesting and relatable cast of characters, a well thought out world, humor, an art style you love, and most of all: A plot. Stjepan knows how to put a unique spin on a theme that has been used a thousand times, making every story he tells a delight and a page turner. Review: Amazing art, unique story - Yes, this graphic novel is deliciously spicy. But, what will really get you is the amazing art - Sejic has the hand and the eye for composition and color rarely seen in comics any more, and he's an excellent writer as well. Characters are alive and the story is unique and well written. It will make you rush to the next page only to reread again to take time and admire the art properly.

Like the first hour of a 2-hour pilot
Fine Print; Or, How a Divine Contract May Not Be the Best Cure For a Broken Heart is a new graphic novel series from Stjepan Šejić, the author/artist of Sunstone, and is even more steamy and erotic than the latter title. As is typical of Šejić's work, the art is magnificent, the colors are dynamic and eye-catching, the characters are engaging, the facial expressions are superb, and even the smuttiest scenes serve a purpose in the overall story. The one notable flaw is that we don't get enough of that story. The premise for the overall series is pretty simple: a model named Lauren Thomas is granted a magical contract that would summon the greatest of all cubi (gods of desire) to fulfill her every sexual need; unfortunately, the title of "greatest" is currently a contested one, so Lauren gets both the finalists and must judge for herself which of them is the winner. What is not at all simple is all the backstory and worldbuilding that has to go into such a premise. And so Šejić spends so much of volume 1 showing us who and what the cubi are, why the contracts exist and why they're so important, how Lauren's love life has gone so wrong that she would try such a contract in the first place, and what the stakes are for everybody involved, that the actual premise itself that I outlined above doesn't get fully set up. Instead, we're left with a sort of awkward cliffhanger to be taken up next issue, like when the two-hour pilot of a TV series would get split up into two one-hour episodes for the reruns. Which leaves the book gorgeous, intriguing, and sexy as anything, but not all that satisfying narratively. That said, I still can't wait for volume 2.

Worldbuilding, amazing art, and feels
If you liked Sunstone, you’ll love Fine Print. If you like anything spicy, you’ll like Fine Print. If you like a combination of eroticism, goofy humor, and some emotional bits, you’ll like Fine Print. If you have a pulse.., well you get the idea. Vol 1 is ambitious and lays out a lot of worldbuilding, but it’s tied in with lots of exciting illustrations in Sejic’s unique style. I could honestly just look at the art, but the story itself has a lot to recommend it too! If you’ve read something by him, expect all his typical hallmarks and if you haven’t, give it a try!

Out the gate success
This story is exceptionally good which is no surprise as it has all the themes and styles that the creator excels at on display. Horny, heartfelt, funny, and unrepentantly real in its honest portrayal of relatively honest people making bad choices for understandable if dumb reasons. A spectacular story that showcases how far some will go to avoid dealing with their business.

One of my favorite indie series
I have loved this series from the start and I am so glad I have it physically now! The art is fantastic and the story is a lot of fun to read! I would highly recommend this series if you're on the fence about it!

Sex, devils and contract law.
For those of you who enjoy some debauchery but Lucifer was to tame for you? Fine Print should be right up your alley. Brilliant artwork combined with a tight and believable yarn. No spoilers but if you ever wondered what it would be like if supernatural forces wanted you badly enough to compete for you, then imagine no longer.

I absolutely love this book! I don't want to say it, but I think I like it even more than Sunstone! The storytelling is impeccable, the story beats always making you want to turn the page ahead to see what happens. The expressivity and charm of the characters as well as the beautiful drawing style specific to Sejic shine through in this book without fail. It is a lovely entertaining story that had me laughing out loud multiple times while reading it. But what I particularly enjoy above the fun of it is the maturity with which certain topics are approached. I laughed at the jokes, but I thought about the ideas and concepts discussed for days after. Really, amazing work. Can't wait for volume 2!

His creator owned comics could seem mundane with exiting interuptions of sex, but while the sexy stuff is... wel.. sexy, its the slice of life stuff in between that makes his work so endeering. The faces, their emotions on display, the dumb yet genious humor, it all comes together (yes, with the sexy) to ilustrate complete human characters that pull you in. You like comics? Yyou should try!

First of all: I am a fan of the author's work. So I am probably veeeeery biased. That said: I like the idea and the execution. It started as a story not very complicated, but gradually rise expectations and I makes you hungry for more. Volume 2 not coming out fast enough.
