Excellent hearing protection
I am moderately hearing impaired, having lost about half my high frequency hearing over the past few years. Any sort of loud noise exposure further jeopardizes my hearing, causing severe ringing and then further hearing loss.I still love music though. Especially live music. I miss hearing music the way I used to. I don't have the fidelity I used to, but I still enjoy listening to all kinds of music and want to retain my current frequencies. So I just went to a concert with my new Minuendo protection. We were in the 6th row in a small venue. Three bands--3 1/2 hours of music. And at the end, my hearing was great and I had no extra tinnitus. The next day, no extra tinnitus and retained hearing. I used the adjustment on the plug throughout the concert, louder during talking, quieter during heavier hitting songs. And they were comfortable to wear.Yes, they cost more. But they're designed and made in Norway, not China. The quality is excellent, it comes with many different earplugs, and they do exactly what they're supposed to. I'm extremely pleased.

Build quality and durability is garbage
Review from a professional working musician:I bought these around the end of the 1st quarter of 2023 I would highly recommend you spring for custom grafted earplugs at this price point. I've used these on hundreds of gigs at this point and I wouldn't recommend them. The first thing to fall apart was the case, second were the magnets on the outside of the earplugs, the third was the entire housing of the right earplug. When that came apart, I had to fix it with an emergency tap solution on the bandstand to keep it intact. From a listening stand point, they do exactly as advertised with a really nice adjustable filter, but the build quality is so atrociously low that I wouldn't recommend anyone pick these up for serious use.

Best Ear Protection I’ve used
These things are incredible. I’m an audio professional so ear protection is extremely important for me. The obvious things are fit (they provide many different cone types), comfort (they are for long periods of time), and the quality of the noise cancellation. These have a variable slider which allows for more or less intense reduction and they really do make a difference for different environments.I will say the magnets that hold them together caused the top piece to snap off of one of the earbuds so I sent in a picture to Minuendo and after confirming my purchase date they immediately sent out a new pair to me free of charge and I have not had the issue again.Love these and always recommend good hearing protection!

Won’t work if you are a musician who SINGS or TALKS
These earplugs come with a variety of earpiece shapes, sizes, and materials and a chart of how much sound gets cut out, by decibels. I’m an acoustic strings musician who suffers from what is called Temporary Threshold Shift. If the total volume is not more than about 88 dB, my hearing is excellent. If it gets much louder than that, eventually the cilia in my inner ear get paralyzed and sounds seem to be underwater. I can’t go to loud concerts or be around loud drums. But I play in lots of jams with twenty people, and in some, the volume is just two high and it harms my hearing. These are very expensive, but for “lossless” it seemed to be worth it. The different earpieces and the lever varying the volume work as promised. Perhaps the full sound spectrum is let through. However, not very much of that full sound spectrum gets through. That is to say, in a concert setting where the volume is about 95 dB, even with the setup that lets through the most, I can hear my own loud banjo, but I can barely hear the other instruments. It may be that at a much louder rock concert, these would be great, but I avoid those. At home, I can listen to any music at an enjoyable volume without problem simply by turning down the volume, but these aren’t like that. I do NOT feel that I’ve just turned down the volume. It’s more like the band is down the hall with a couple doors closed.Lots of musicians also sing or talk. That isn’t really possible with these. If you are trying to talk to someone, your own voice sounds unbearably loud, but the people you are talking with are hard to hear. You fear you are talking way too loudly, but perhaps you aren’t. How do you know? As for singing, it’s hard to sing well when you can’t judge your volume and the band sounds like it’s in the next room. So, I paid $138 for these and tried them a couple times. I wouldn’t mind paying that much if they were outstanding, but as it is, I feel like I’ve wasted my money. After testing them, I haven’t used them again.

Saving the hearing
Great product. Went hard with the flugelhorn to test. Able to clearly hear background music along with hearing the tone of the horn. The price had me held back for a while. The ability to dismiss the after performance ringing is so worth it along with knowing I’m protecting myself from damage.

my experience
I like that they're adjustable. I found that useful as sometimes I don't want the full attenuation of my other ear plugs. As a musician they have a better frequency response than the cheaper ear plugs I've bought. But they are fragile and I was careful with them as they are a significant investment. The magnets fell off soon after I bought them. The back of one fell off after about 10 months. If they were cheaper or more robust I would recommend them.

Magnets broke in 2 months we
Update:After I was provided with a couple replacement buds, I found out that to separate them you should simply slide the buds apart instead of pulling apart.I’m writing this review from a huge metal fest right now where I’m constantly using the minuendo buds and they have been amazing at keeping the sound at perfect quality while effectively lowering down the decibels.I also use the high noise canceling setting on airplanes when I’m trying to sleep and that works great.I’m leaving the review at 4 stars since they could still improve the magnets design by adding a few small screws to make them more sturdy.Older review:Just after 2 months of buying these and being used about 5 times , the magnet broke. I’d never expect something so expensive to break so fast
