Bought these for a 14 mile day hiking trip (36x30) but when I got them in they were just too small. The trip was the next day after i got them so i ran to sports authority and spent about 15$ more for the same pair in a bigger size (38x30). This inconvenience doesnt warrant four stars and heres why. These were awesome! We started out in pouring rain, and although i had a poncho and a pack cover, these were the only bottoms i brought. It rained for an hour maybe and we were soaked. Finally it stopped and only ten minutes later it seemed my pants were dry already. Yesssss! Score one for pants. As we got about 7 miles in, i noted that by now I would usually have some sort of chafing going on around the belt area or the seams by the thigh area. There was none. These were comfortable the entire time. The seams are very small and flat and although i thought the belt was odd, the belt area touching my skin did not rub raw even when wet. Score two for pants From about mile 10 to the end it was blistering hot. The sun was beating down but my legs were fine. Not hot at all which is a huge improvement over other pants I've tried. I didnt even need to unzip the legs on this trip. I do believe these have uv protection anyways but that was not the reason i bought them. Score three for pants! These did so well on my trip that i exchanged the small ones on amazon for a bigger size instead of just getting a refund. Now I have two pairs of great hiking pants. Pros: *15-20$ less expensive on amazon than our sports authority. *lightweight and cool *moisture wicking/fast drying *legs zip off! *no chafing Cons: *very thin. (dries fast but I can see these getting torn in the future) *the bottoms of the legs dont zip. (if i were wearing boots, i would have to take my boots off to get the legs off) *sizes on amazon run small. (All of my other pants are 36x30. The length is spot on but the waist is a size small.) Overall I would definitely buy these again.

I bought four pair of these pants for a trip to Ireland in the month of June. They are lightweight and perfect for cool mornings when you have them on as long pants. Then if it gets warm later in the day, you can zip the bottoms off and you’re in a pair of shorts. It saved me from packing long pants and separate shorts on this trip. And also saved weight in my suitcase. We stayed in Airbnb‘s that all had laundry facilities, and these were easy to throw in the small washing machines and dryers they have over there. They dry quite quickly in a dryer on low.

El pantalón es genia. Tengo el modelo en varios colores y me encanta. Para llevar a diario o para practicar senderismo va muy bien. Me decidí a comprarlo en Amazon por que al comprobar las tallas disponibles habia gran variedad y, por fin, iba a poder disfrutar de estos pantalones en una talla algo menos justa que la que ya tenia. El precio también era bastante interesante. El problema de la talla está en que Amazon utiliza las tallas internacionales (m, l, xl, xxl) y convierte a estas las del fabricante, talla q además varía en función del pais (se puede comprobar en la pagina del fabricante). Según Columbia mi talla sería la 54es, equivalente a una 44 us...etc....y esta talla para Amazon sería la xxl (54-56). Perfecto. El problema es que me enviaron una 48es. Me ofrecieron el cambio del producto por uno de la talla correcta y me volvieron a enviar la misma talla. He de decir que todo sin ningún tipo de problema y totalmente gratis. Por tanto, y en tanto no se especifique la talla del producto tal y como lo hace el fabricante, no recomiendo su compra.
