Should the pills be purple or red orange? Normally they are purple but this last order is a red orange.

does the softgels comes in an dark orange color and has a fishy smell?

The softgels are a dark orange/redish color. I have not taken them so I do not know if they have a fishy smell, however most all Prenatal vitamins, including these, have DHA, which sometime will have a reaction with your body and cause a fishy smell. However, if you have any questions or side effects that you are concerned about, you should talk to you doctor.

Is it plant based gelatin or animal based?
