Another amazing read
St Clare and Mayer have done it again. What a duo! Ali and Lan. Ruby. Cynth. And more. Characters that evolve and deepen, events and plots galore, a world spun from the imagination that just. won't. stop. For which I am grateful.

good story
Even though this book wasn’t as exciting it did have romance that was very much needed for Allie and Lan. I look forward to the next book to see where their love goes and how things go for Allie.

FOR EVERYTHING THAT IS FAE!
What a great book! As I read this book I am at awe at how the minds of Shannon Mayer and Kelly St Claire work. To come up with the storyline is one thing but to bring it to life and have such great detail with exciting twists and turns. This series is a MUST READ.

Mostly Enjoyed
This was overall a really enjoyable book. It had enough action to go by quickly and enough mystery to keep you (mostly) guessing. I like the growth of the romance and friendship in the book. However, the MFC does stay willfully ignorant about some important issues in the book, even when it is actually spelled out for her. The writing there just served to make her seem really dumb. She also has several things happen to show her she needs to accept her destiny, with lots of heavy hints along the way, yet she stays really difficult and trying to refuse it more. I love that we get to know the oracle and her bickering friend. That part is cute. The villain being so powerful and been able to set so much into motion for his favor doesn’t really make sense though. Perhaps that will be explained in the next book.

5 wicked sharp stars from me!
📚A Throne of Feathers and Bone, book 2 in the Honey and Ice trilogy✒by Shannon Mayer & Kelly St. ClareNA, 🌶5/10, profanity, violenceThere's a difference between a hook & a cliffhanger. I know this. But damn if it doesn't feel like a cliffhanger! Wow! So.much.information!This book was action from page 1 & continues until page 342! Of the many theories I had going into this, it took about 16% into the book to figure one out, & the spectacular way it was finally confirmed caused my ineffectual words at the end. Speechless. This absolute tapestry of a world, from modern Alaska to the Fae island, to Underhill itself... amazing and rich and complex! Love it!As for Faolan and Kallik, they being a Seelie and an Unseelie, forever doomed to never be together, due to one dying if they give in to their magnetism... it was bittersweet, because they are connected on such a deep level. However, I seriously enjoyed the push and pull, the snark and humor, the flirting, the NEED they have for each other in the middle of their fae world going mad; it's intense. Not quite enemies to lovers, but has that feel.As always, our badass heroine Kallik, with her humor, snark, and loyalty to FRamily, those who you MAKE your family, make me love her so much. She's willing to fix the madness and open Underhill again, over clearing her name of the accusations thrown at her in A Court of Honey and Ash.Faolin has so much more to discover about him, his revelations and Kallik's reactions made me mushy. I feel like something has to give for the two of them. And these side characters, as they become more fleshed out, I absolutely want more about her BFF Cinth's life! The Oracle went from being one I was angry with, to one I enjoyed immensely. And don't get me started on the gentle giant with all the avatars!Oh, and then there's the twists & betrayals... gah, I need more! January is not getting here fast enough!

True Colors Revealed
Book 2 in the Honey and Ice series picks up right where book 1, A Court of Honey and Ash, ended. Meaning you jump right into the action. Death threats, gossip, unwieldy magic, multiple love interests, an impossible task, and an uncertain future is a lot for anyone. And the story continues with a series of twists and turns that shake main character, Kallik, to the core.I found the writing and editing to be as smooth as the first book, without any glaring errors or discontinuities. I love the continued plot twists, the complexity of Kallik's world, and that the romance is getting hotter. And oh, the things we learn about Kallik's history and that of some of the secondary characters!Big revelations, including the motivations of many of the characters, helped flesh out the supporting cast. I really enjoy the fact that Kallik and company are still growing into their own, and that there is room for development. Contrarily, even though the action is great, I feel that the character development suffers just a little because of it. Maybe Kallik is just more action-oriented than me, but it felt like even emotional moments were mid-action, she is never actually still to sit with the emotions or fully address them. And while I enjoyed this book even more than the previous one, I could not shake my discontent with the pacing.Overall, I found A Throne of Feathers and Bone to be an enjoyable read. I would recommend it to others without hesitation. Of note, this story does have a resolution, so no cliff-hanger, though there is a definite hook to set-up book 3. I am looking forward to reading more!

Woah!!
Please note that most of this was originally reviewed prior to today and is being updated now. The reason behind this is simply due to my buying and listening to the audio, while I read the book for a second time!!Woah just about sums it up, guys. Let's say this, IF you enjoyed book one....A Court Of Honey And Ash.Then you are going to be extremely happy reading this book!!It again starts off on a run, just like book one!! There is no build up in the action and danger and it's absolutely refreshing if nothing else. So be warned guys 'n' girls. This book burns hot throughout and then there's a even bigger heat build up.....IF you get my meaning of course <winks twice and wiggles eyebrows>There's lots of misleading everyone, as well as betrayal like you wouldn't believe, dozens of surprises......I guessed within a few chapters as it's all just common sense on.....who, what, where and when with the two courts and the wild and outcast of fae!! Trust me when I say, you'll be sitting there with your cup of coffee, sighing and feeling just exhausted as all of the character!!Now encompass all of that with that sheer brilliance, of both Kelly and Shannon, brimming with absolute professionalism and a boundless amount of talent, that both of these two authors bring and their creative juices, filling all these pages full of laughter, sadness happiness and loss and what do you have?!?!?IYou get another amazing tale whisking you into a world you can lose yourself in for a couple of hours!!****New Content Warning****Now let's talk about one other person, who also injected the book with her usual professional narration and immense vocal talents.Elizabeth Evans is one of the top female narrator's and a great joy to listen to, as you're reading the book along with it, and creating a more personable connection to ALL of the characters.I'd recommend this book and audio without any doubt. The characters all have differing personalities and Elizabeth helps bring them all to life!!Take my advice and buy both today, trust me, you will enjoy them both immensely. Would you dare to enter a world where you can safely escape to and fall in love and shed tears and walk the winding path, that has been made possible, by Kelly, Shannon and Elizabeth??You'd be fae-crazy I'd you didn't.Love you all and thanks for giving a world to dream in, once the book and audio have finished 💖💖💖💖

Twisty, Turny & Tumultuous!😲😡😭😍🔥💥
Entertaining, Emotive & Explosive!😍😲💥A Throne of Feathers and Bone (Honey and Ice Trilogy #2)This was a more convoluted read than book #1. The tale was far more twisty & turny, it took us down what amounted to dead ends that then veered the story in other directions, with each new path adding more questions & revealing few answers.🙈😕After their escape from Alli's execution, they go to the Unseelie castle. She meets the Queen for the first time. She is everything the Seelie Queen Consort isn't. After fleeing the Fae island Alli & Lan spend more time together, looking for the entry to Underhill. With diversions & near death experiences they're drawn closer constantly. After an explosion of their mixed magic causes devastation, Alli loses hope that she's worthy or that they'll ever be able to be together.💔Truth lies in Underhill for them both, especially Alli, but is she ready to hear it?😲 What has become of Cinth?😔 Can Ruby calm the outcasts fury?🙏 Will war ruin them all?💥This was a frustrating & captivating read. These Authors have a great writing chemistry, it's seamless.👍 Now the agonising wait begins for book #3.🙈 Enjoy the ride.🌟Debbie, 1970, UK
