A refreshing and interesting read for both investors as well their advisers.
Belonging to the financial services I was not sure what I would find in this book. However, I was delighted to read a fresh perspective on the topic of money! The authors of the book have done a wonderful job in explaining the nuances of the topic of money, finance, financial markets, and especially human behavior when it comes to finances. The chapter on how money can be handled within relationships was very relevant to what questions our younger clients ask when discussing money as couples. My next favorite topic was the role of luck when dealing with investments. The last part of the book talks about how we should diversify our investments not only in different asset classes but also in different AMCs. This is very relevant to what we suggest to our clients. This book is current as well as a timeless lesson for anyone who wants to manage their money better, start out investing or has been investing for a long period of time. The characters of the book and the stories make it very easy to relate to the ideas presented. Good reading. I will recommend this book to my clients as well as other professionals in the financial industry.

A Widom capsule for all catagories
Not from a financial background and at a stage in life with no interest in investments, I wasn't buying this book. Bought it for curiosity and the catchy tittle. But what an awesome read. Great. Enjoyed it throughly. The layout, narrative cum narration style makes it very lucid. The chapters have an independent story line, yet are very well interconnect. Loved the quote " Investments are not to make you rich but keep you rich".Would strongly recommend this wisdom capsule to young, old and all genders. I thought only knowledge can be imparted, not wisdom. This adage is proved wrong by the book.Sandeep accomplished himself as an par excellence author with the book "Dear Son: Lifes 21 lessons, Fron a Father". Sanjit, the co author, excels and joins him in the same league.Brig DS DHILLON (Retd)

Simplifying financial complexities. A must read for everyone!!
The beauty of this book is its simple relatable content. ‘What My MBA did not teach Me about Money’ is the kind of book that everyone should have (MBA or no MBA). The way the authors have explained complex terminology and situations relating to finance is captivating and compels the reader to visualise themselves in similar scenarios. The human and financial perspectives of money are presented with much clarity and precision. How different people approach varied situations in life and plan their present and future are important learnings one draws from the book.I read the book with a pencil in my hand, making notes and highlighting certain points. It truly is a book I would love to go back to for reference and guidance.

Mediocre at best
The whole book in one line - "Get a professional to manage your money and do your investing for you". It is reiterated again and again. If that is the case, then there is no need for the book.Nice stories though. 3 stars for the stories, and 2 or even 1 for content. May be I was expecting too much by reading the title of the book. The ideas presented runs contrary to the generally accepted investment principles given by great investors like Warren Buffet and Jack Bogle. Anyways, all in all an easy read and nice stories.

A must read for developing personal finance skills
A must-read for anybody who has ever given a thought to personal finances. This is a skill missed almost completely in our traditional learning systems in home, school or college. The authors have done a fantastic job in bringing this much-neglected area to light in a lucid, well-articulated style still covering a large domain.Given the divergence of income streams in the emerging economy as well as investment options and lifestyle choices along with the emergence of nuclear families; education on personal finances is a skill the importance of which cannot be overemphasised. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to all keen on having the lifestyle they aspire to with just a little better management of their personal finances

Recommended read!!
Practical to the core and a very interesting read! The book hits the mark when addressing the topic of money in our lives. The depth of topics covered is amazing in comparison to other personal finance books (which typically talk about the same basic topics). The authors have done a good job of explaining the concepts through stories, making it easy to relate to the situations the characters face.I was most impressed by the mindset the book gives about wealth - it is not just making wealth, but keeping it and enjoying it too. Lots of things in the book can be implemented in day-to-day lives. Worth reading a few times. Definitely recommended!

A valuable book that you should read a few times, if not at least once.
If a book can engage someone who is not into reading and stays away from topics on finance, then it has to be an interesting and a valuable book. This is such a book. For a long time I had ignored my personal finances, but due to some recent circumstances I have become more aware in taking right steps in securing my finances for next 20-30 years. This book is one of the resources that I found and I am glad I started reading the book one chapter at a time. Although I was not very optimistic in finishing the book as it happens with most of the books that I purchase, the authors linked the learning in an interesting story telling way that kept me engaged. Even on a dry topic such as Finance, this books does a great job in making it interesting. The book is easy to follow and will definitely change the way you have thought about finance. I will definitely recommend it!

Nice summmary
Nice one. A bit involved at spots. Overall extremely thorough. Some review said that these guys are telling us to get a personal advisor, then why need this book? These authors tell exactly what my friends think they can do in US markets. I have an advanced degree in physics and randomness is not something to mess with. Having a personal advisor is one of the finest advice for most people not because advisor need clients but clients are overconfident because of cheap information. They also spell out stories (some of them were crappy and gets worse as chapters March on), to show case some points. The largest original point is the idea of two perspectives in every scenario: human and finance and how these two poles crest a “charge”, “buzz” leading to all sorts of cognitive disabilities. The advisor is like the psychiatrist who can help you sort your emotions and be the lightning rod to protect against the most dangerous person in investment: YOU.Recommend for advanced personal finance.
