I am a Police Officer and recently started the bike patrol in the downtown area of our city. Based on the recommendation of another Officer who has been riding for years, I bought this bag. I must say that I am not disappointed. This is a well constructed bicycle bag, that meets my needs perfectly. It holds it's shape and stores the little bit of gear that I don't already wear on my belt. I mounted a light to the rear of this bag, which secures nicely. A trick shown to me by the officer that recommended the bag is to take a rubber band and loop it around the light clip where it attaches to the bag. This prevents the light from moving side to side, and more importantly keeps it from falling off the bag when you go over curbs or hard bumps. I have seen other officers lose their lights in the road when theirs fell off. I am probably going to buy another Bushwhacker bag for use on my personal bike. I can tell you that these bags hold up well to abuse since there are officers who have been using theirs for several years to no ill effect. The main compartment provides a generous amount of space for larger items. 2 side pockets can easily fit other items you want quicker access to. In my case, ticket books, sunglasses, gloves and misc small items. It would be great for MP3 players or phones also. The top zippered compartment will hold a couple of relatively flat items that you want right on top. I have a notepad and another small book there, but it could be useful for a wallet, id, or keys as well. If having to purchase another bike bag after using this one and seeing several other brands, I would absolutely get this one again.

This product is an improvement from the older style I purchased in 1992. I like the improvements made to this new Mesa Bike bag.

I have had mine since 6\2022 and it works as if it was new! Liked it so much we got one for my wife's bike. The walls are strong and don't collapse (holds its shape) The pocket on top of the lid is perfect for holding my phone and makes it easy to get to. The Velcro holds tight! The bag does not remove easily. If you don't know how to take it off you probably couldn't get it off quickly. I find this keeps it safe when we make short stops. I DO NOT remove them from the bikes when we have the bikes on the rack so they have been road tested at 70 mph on a hitch mount rack behind my truck. Don't know if they recommend this or not. but we have had good luck doing it
