Q: How often does the bottle need to be pumped up during the bleeding of all 4 brakes?

Hello. Once you have reach the desired pressure.If is well prepared and there are no leaks. You will built more pressure only as needed. But, for the most part; You will be able to finish bleeding all of your breaks if you prepared everything well and there are no leaks of air or fluid. On the other hand; This is a very handy and exceptional product. I am not a mechanic. I use it for the repair/bleeding/replacing/ of the breaks, clutch and ABS on my R53 Mini Cooper S, VW Vanagon, F250 and Ford Transit Connect. It is reliable, efficient and definitely helps to get the job done without a mess or mistakes.
