The Art of Electronics Student Manual by Thomas C. Hayes (Sep 29 1989)

Extremely useful book. I bought this as a required text for a college course. But you don't need a college degree to get a lot of mileage from this. The book starts with Ohm's law and resistors and takes you through the entire scope of electronics. By the end you'll be building computers from scratch. Special sections on high frequency circuits and low voltage devices. I commonly return to this text to refresh my knowledge and solve problems that arise at work. If you're interested in tinkering with electronics I highly recommend it. The concrete example circuits are helpful, as are the examples of common mistakes.

This is a perfect book for me. I have a strong math background and no electrical engineering background. I highly recommend getting the student workbook that goes with it. I love the conversational style, but far more important is that the subject is presented pretty rigorously without a lot of "hand-waving."

Nothing like ordering a 30 year old book, and getting one printed 9 years ago. Great shape. Pages clean and bright.

I wish this would have been the text book when I was in college! You can actually sit and read it for pleasure and after 40 years in electronics I haven't found many like that.Expensive but quality is and it is well worth it.

Its nice to have this companion book for the Art of Electronics, but do not expect it to be near as good as the Art of Electronics itself, it contains problems, some solutions and some worked excercises which make only sense if you have the Art of Electronics book. Its good to have it but its really not that necessary.

Companion book to the main text. I haven't gotten into as yet, but from what I have seen this is like the bible of electronics training. Received it quickly enough.

Very nice book to accompany their electronics beast! I teach the course and found the student manual to be very helpful to students. More details than the main text, and in a writing style more accessible to the beginner.

This is a very useful companion of my favorite electronics textbook. Many of us need to actually perform the projects to make the theory useful.
