Fastest throw bag I've seen
I just purchased an Astral GreenJacket PFD because I will be taking A Swiftwater Rescue Technician Level I. I bought this to go with it after watching a YouTube clip about the throw bag. I was skeptical about the short length of he rope at only 50' but liked the idea of how quickly it could be deployed. I had no idea that I would get to try it out so quickly.Yesterday, after a spring float, we had just arrived at the take-out at Beehive Bend on the Main Payette near Boise. While we were hanging out, a couple of other rafters came up in a Sotar cataraft and a Aire Puma. One of the gentleman in the Puma fell out as he was reaching for his paddle. The other boater didn't know whether to help his friend, or paddle for the small beach at the take-out. In the end he wasn't able to do either. The river was high and fast and 37degrees F. They quickly shot past the landing. This whole thing took place in a couple of seconds. When it became apparent they weren't going to make it, I pulled this bag out of the mesh panel behind the front pocket of my GreenJacket and threw it. It was awesome how fast this was. No one else on he beach was able to get to their throw bags in their boats in time. Distance was 40'. The bag functioned perfectly. In fact, my buddy who is a fireman for voice he said "where did you get that throw bag from? That was fast!"I do need to mention that the rope is only 1/4". It is made of dyneema so it is incredibly strong, but when I was pulling their boat in from shore, it was so skinny it was harder to pull than the 3/8" rope in my bigger rope bags. But, if it wasn't so skinny, it either wouldn't fit in the PFD or it would be even shorter.Obviously this was not a life or death situation. However, the bag was able to save some boaters from the hassle of missing the take-out. This bag is extremely well designed for what it is. It's short, but so fast to deploy," that hopefully you'll be able to toss the rope before the swimmer gets out of reach. I had a situation last summer, where my boat got stuck on a partially submerged rock and one of my kids fell out. The boat stayed still while the current swept my boy downstream fast. I couldn't unclip the throw bag in my raft in time to reach him and he had to self rescue by swimming to shore. If I had had this throw bag and lifejacket combination at that time, I would've been able to deploy the throwbag in time to reach him. That's why I bought it.Update: It's been 3 months and I love this thing. After using it all summer, it has gotten more use than all my other bags combined. The best bag is the one that is on you.

Always on me
This sweet little throw bag fits so nicely into my astral green jacket and is easy to pull out whenever needed. I love having a throw rope on my person instead of just in my boat.Double bonus that it’s strong dyneema. Perfect for swift water rescue situations. The best rope is the one you can effectively carry and throw to victims!

Easy throw
This bag is really easy to throw. I’m actually really happy with it. It’s easier to stuff than I anticipated as well.

Quick to grab
It’s a good rope for quick action. Fits in my nrs zen hand warming slot. Instead of fumbling around trying to pull your rope out from behind your seat in your boat this one is within an arms reach at all times.

Not a fan
My first throw bag. I’m not a fan. I’ve used other guides and this one is not as good as theirs. I’ll be getting a new one.
