Easy to Use Sealer
Purchase to seal some outdoor teak furniture. Sealer was easy to apply with a foam brush and with minimal cleanup needed. One coat of the clear sealer did darken the appearance of the teak wood slightly. A little sealer goes a long way. A gallon size container was purchased to seal a table, four chairs and bench, but less than one quart was enough to seal the furniture with one coat.

Gives a warm attractive look
Although some reviewers say it turned their teak orange, I found that not to be the case. It does have a tint that is warm, but a pleasing look if you don’t want the silvery weathering look, or want to delay it. A quart goes a long long way if you apply it thin, with just the slightest dab on a foam brush. I still have a little left after sealing a loveseat, chair, ottoman and two side tables. The furniture in my photos are new, one month old under a pergola, and the loveseat was unboxed and assembled the day of sealing. They all look the same after sealing, whether a month of exposure or right out the box. The wood will chew up foam brushes quickly so buy a half dozen, or a brush or two per pieces of furniture. I have no comment on longevity since I just applied it but it is easy to work with, nice and thin, and I like the look. It does take a while to cure, maybe a couple full days of direct sunlight, so be patient and make sure its cured before you put cushions on it.

Excellent product beware of amazon shipping
First, this is an excellent product. I put it on a new teak table and it looks great. It’s a warm golden/brown. Very pleasing. Second, Starbrite has excellent customer service. I shared my concern, listed below, and they responded immediately... within minutes... made good on a promise and successfully shipped product to me on the first try and within days. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THEM! Third, I ordered this product three times from amazon. The first shipment was damaged so badly that the shipper refused to deliver it to me. (The brown truck guys, so they know what they are doing.) The replacement order was also so damaged that the shipper refused delivery. The sealer spilled so badly that they had to put the whole box in a tote to protect other packages. The third time, the item was damaged and leaking, but the shipper delivered it. Nearly half the can had spilled out in the box. All three times I attempted to work with amazon customer service. I explained that the can was put in a box with no packing material... just loose in an oversized box. They did not care and simply dismissed my concerns with a refund. Bottom line: This is a very nice product that looks great and I have every reason to believe it will be durable. I just cannot recommend buying it from Amazon unless they figure out how to ship it. Rather, I recommend you work with the manufacturer to find a local source.

So far ,so good!
Cant attest to durability yet (hence 4 stars) but it went on easily and left a nice satin look! Like the color. I didn't know how much I'd need so I bought a quart. Wished I bought a gallon since I'm going to need at least 3 qts to do 4 chairs and a table. I used 1/2 quart on the chair pictured, covering it completely -undersides included. I included a picture before cleaning, after cleaning and sanding -ready for sealer and the finished product. Really pleased with how it looks with the Classic Teak finish! A word of caution . I initially bought a qt. of clear and its NOTHING like the colored version. Very thin like pure solvent. When I tried a small test spot it went on, soaked it up, and dried like there was nothing on it. I imagine it protects but it wont give a "finished" look. Anyhow- so far , so good!

Worth the money. Use with their teak cleaner
Applied their teak wash, sanded lightly all over 220 grit, and finished with a 3M ultrafine scotch-brite pad and then a wipe with paint thinner- stuff kept coming off which I suspect could make for a cloudy appearance. Very thick material which is fine because it did not run at all or drop a single drop on the patio! Brushes out really well and easy to wipe small blobs with a rag. I applied a relatively thin coat and got a beautiful, deep finish with no shine and the appearance of the grain is outstanding. A little goes a long ways. I suspect since it was a light coat, I may have to reapply toward the fall but it is just perfect now. NOTE-- very slow to dry, keep it in sunshine, flip the furniture over and rotate.

Easy application, great color, prep important!
Really pleased with this product. The package I received said "teak sealer", not "teak oil sealer." -Amount: I treated a new dining table table and an older bench with two coats, and used 1/3 can. -Color: it's a warm teak color. Some reviewers think it's a little orange. To me it's a great teak tone. -Sealer vs oil: did a lot of research about this, as my experience with oil is not great. Used it on the bench, and it just lacks the staying power. Research says use a Sealer rather than oil, and this brand ranks high. -Prep: the prep for the new table was super easy. It sat outside four weeks (recommended in one article) before sealing. I simply wiped it down and allowed it to dry before applying. The prep for the older bench was a pain. It really did look bad in spite of having been oiled and partially protected by a screen porch all of its life. I scrubbed it with a combo of water, dish detergent, and bleach using a Dobie. And at times a plastic brush. A lot of gunk came off. After drying, sanded with medium grain paper, which removed most but not all the oil residue. Then wiped it with a wet rag several times. I did not use the multiple prep products that Starbrite sells. -Application - this is the easy part. This product goes on super easy. It is not as drippy as oil. You need to apply it outside to have the UV rays. Lay a tarp below to protect your deck or patio, have a clean rag handy and apply with a sponge brush. Dip brush just 1/4 inch or so. Apply with even strokes, stopping at seams. Go back after several minutes wiping/buffing with your rag - very important. Beautiful! -Duration: time will tell whether this will be more lasting and durable than oil. Research says it will. Fingers crossed!

I've ordered this product many times...that tells you its a great product. We use it for our teak dec table and chairs, which are 13yrs old. The table and chairs had been previously treated with a terrible product that id nothing! I love this teak sealer because it covers nicely and the colours are lovely, but mostly because it does not chip or flake off with age. It simply fades away with time and weather. We store the table and chairs in an unheated shed over the winter of -25 to -30°C temps. The table and chairs can go 2 years between applications of this product, which is a Godsend because other products desperately need reapplication every year. Our summer temps reach +30°C so the teak sealer does get tested regularly. We have recommended this product to friends in the North who are also looking for a great outdoor furniture sealer.

I used this product to seal the boat wood platform, and after 3 months, it is still the perfect color and it is still protecting the wood. Before using this product, the other seal was gone after 1 or 2 months, this one will be at least good for the whole season 4-5 months. My boat is always in the water.
