Q: Can I use this on top of red hair for a top up ?

I'm sure it wouldn't do any harm. I used it on 12yr old daughters hair (brown) it looked great but definitely didn't wash out just faded. I would assume it is a stain. Sorry, probably not overly helpful

You could but you will get a brighter shade the paler the hair is. It may turn out a purpley red colour on the purple parts as the purple is the base.

Q: does it work on mousy brown hair?

It works on my dark hair but know that it doesn’t come out easily. The blonder sections of my hair have ended up keeping the colour months later. I wouldn’t use this on my child in the school holidays x

Q: Will this cover roots?

It didn't touch my roots only worked on preciously dyed hair on me and my natural roots is quite light mousey colour but didn't work on them, hope this helps
