Really works.
This device would save the day for a live session If the mic has an un-fixable ground loop. As for high end audio. well this device is unsuitable. But for live mic, this device should be in every audio tech's toolbox.

Works exactly as intended in my setup with no detectable change in sound, afaik.
TLDR: It is bi-directional. It does what it is made to do and doesn't seem to drop any bass. I tried really hard to hear a difference.Details:I recieved the product the same day I wrote this. I tested the sound quality using my ears and an Astro Headset with Mix Amp. I am 41 years old and, as far as I know, have no hearing loss. First I plugged it in to my monitor's sound output which was connected to my Nintendo Switch through HDMI. The device produced no detectable change in sound or volume other than stripping the ground loop noise from the signal. It also stripped the noise when I plugged it directly into the Switch's headphone jack. The buzzing from the switch was present after the signal went through my Mix Amp. This is because the Mix Amp just sends a sound signal out and this device isn't made to strip sound. It is made to strip the trash from a transmission before it reaches any other device. I listened to games' music over and over before I used the device and specifically paid attention to the points where there was extra low bass. I was surprised at how deep bass was in games' music now that I was listening for it. Used correctly this device didn't drop any bass that I could hear. And I know that because I went a step further than just game music.I used a paid Spotify account on a high end PC and a track called "Subwoofer System Test" by "Power Supply". There was no buzz to fix in the first place, I just wanted to hear what would happen. I plugged it after the mix amp, putting it between my head set and the mix amp. This is not where you are supposed to plug it in. You should plug it in from the original sound output such that this device is the first thing the signal goes through. That's how it is made to work. So I did it wrong, and the volume was lowered some. I compensated by simply turning up my mix amp. Using the aforementioned track, I could hear absolutely no difference while using the device versus not using it. I tried really hard going back and forth to hear any difference. There was no difference to hear as far as I know. This is a wonderful product. It does exactly what it says it will do in the product description if you use it correctly.

Worked great... for 2 months (UPDATED)
I thought this was a great adapter. It did exactly what it said it would and sounded good. Did a great job of canceling the noise out on my car stereo. After about 2-3 months of use, it started shorting out– even though I literally had not even moved it once! I plugged it up in my center console and it sat there untouched until I noticed it was cutting in and out. It would be really quiet and I would have to jostle it around just to get the signal fixed enough to hear. Then it got so bad that I just had to remove it so I could even hear the audio.Don’t know if it was a bad batch or if this is standard for these. I am not sure if I’ll buy another one from this company due to cheap manufacturing. It was a great product until it wasn’t anymore. I think it should last longer than it did.I think the weak link is the little aux line that comes off of it. That’s where the short is. I wish it were just a female aux port where I could use my own aux cord to connect (and replace if something like this happened). Unfortunately this isn’t detachable and thus when this goes, the whole product becomes useless.UPDATE 1: I have contacted support about the issue and they have been very accommodating and have agreed to ship me a replacement because there is a 1-year warranty on the product. I’ll up my review from 2 to 3 stars because of the good experience and when I receive the replacement I will update the review again with the outcome.UPDATE 2 (as promised): While it took about about 2 weeks to arrive, I did indeed receive the replacement product. So far it has been working good. I appreciate the company honoring their product warranty, and I did not get any kind of run-around from them. Customer service was overall a good experience for me, and as such, I can recommend them to any potential customers. I will up my stars to 4 due to this. I cannot say for sure if I just got a bad one, or if this will happen again, but so far with a few months use, I have not yet had any problems with the new adapter.

Same as any other ground loop isolator
Tested this "Hifi" ground loop isolator with 2 other (BESIGN and KSRIDOTE) ground loop isolators in my car. This is 2x-3x the price of others and does the same thing. This actually sounded a bit worse and lowered the max volume slightly more than my other 2 cheap chinese ground loop isolators. Skip this and just buy the $5 generic chinese option. They all do appear to significantly lower the volume in one of my cars, however, in my other car, the volume was not very noticeably lowered, so your results may vary.
