This worked great for lifting my generator to the truck bed. I also used it to lift a 200 lbs deer. Setup was pretty easy and anyone with a little mechanical skill can assemble it with basic tools.

I have a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Z71. The height is good, in the fully raised position and tailgate down, there's about 3-4 inches of clearance between the tailgate and bottom of the platform and will rest firmly on the ground in the fully lowered position. It clears the tailgate support cables by an inch or two when swinging. The materials used seem to be of decent quality, the paint/finish is very well done and assembly was simple, only 6 bolts to install. Also, there is plenty of cable on the winch to drag something closer if need be. My one complaint thus far is that there is no way to lock/fix the mast in position, so unless you're on perfectly level ground, it swings to the low side of the truck with the load on it. I'll most likely drill a hole for a locking pin to solve that issue. Overall, it's a pretty good value.

I bought this as a return from Amazon at a slightly reduced price. It came pretty beat up and also with a broken weld which I was able to fix. The winch attachment is a pain . A little tape held things in the wrench and worked for me. As for refinements , I replaced the two all thread bolts for the rollers with two 1/2" shoulder bolts with lock nuts so the rollers would turn on a smooth shafts. Second I removed the tangle prone wire cable and hook and replaced it with 25 foot of ATV winch rope and a 400# + rated carabiner. The cable change is the most important but these two changes make it function smoothly. It works exactly as designed and does it well. Remember to strap down your load. I would have given this five stars but because the one I received was beat up so bad and had the broken weld and was not advertised as damaged , they lose a star.
